New Delhi (IANS): In an unprecedented lockdown for COVID-19, India on Wednesday notified cancellation of all nonofficial visas to curb incoming traffic and advised against all non-essential travel abroad which also curbs outgoing travel. The restrictions come on a day when the World Health Organisation (WHO) declared coronavirus as a pandemic. It has already spread to over 100 countries, many of which are seeing travel restrictions. Italy, for instance is under complete lockdown. The new norms for travel will have serious repercussions for the economy, aviation, travel, hospitality, consumer sentiment, exports and services sectors among other sectors and business is likely to take a back seat as precautions take centrestage. In another drastic measure, the Indian government has decided that all states and union territories should be advised to invoke provisions of Section 2 of Epidemic Disease Act, 1897 which was enacted in the British era to enforce all advisories. All States/UTs should be advised by Union Health Ministry to invoke provisions of Section 2 of Epidemic Disease Act, 1897 so that all advisories being issued from time to time by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare/ State/UTs are enforceable. All these measures are applicable from March 13. Incoming travellers, including Indian nationals, are advised to avoid non-essential travel and are informed that they can be quarantined for a minimum of 14 days on their arrival in India. Indian nationals are strongly advised to avoid all nonessential travel abroad. On their return, they can be subjected to quarantine for a minimum of 14 days. International traffic through land borders will be restricted to designated check posts with robust screening facilities. These will be notified separately by Ministry of Home Affairs.
Lucknow, India (IANS): A woman doctor from Canada has tested positive for coronavirus in the Uttar Pradesh capital of Lucknow, taking the total of such cases in the northern state to 10. The patient, who tested positive late Wednesday night, has been admitted in an isolation ward in King George’s Medical University (KGMU). Her blood sample reported positive result at the KGMU laboratory, and will now be sent for reconfirmation to the National Institute of Virology in Pune. KGMU Medicine Department Prof. Himanshu said on Thursday that the woman is a doctor based in Toronto, Canada. She travelled to Lucknow via London and Mumbai on March 8. She and her husband were admitted in the isolation ward. Her husband’s blood report is negative. The doctors are now drawing up a list of persons who interacted with the woman between March 8 and 11. Ten of these will also be tested for the virus. So far, 10 cases of coronavirus have been reported from Uttar Pradesh, including this woman doctor. These include seven from Agra, one each from Noida and Ghaziabad. All are admitted at the Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi for treatment. According to official sources, more than 15,903 persons have been screened for coronavirus at state’s airports whereas more than 1.2 million people have been tested at inter-state border checkposts.

party leader Bhuvaneshwar Kalita from the second seat. Rajendra Gehlot is the party candidate in Rajasthan. BJP General Secretary Arun Singh said that the list of candidates was finalised in a meeting of the party’s Central Election Committee on Tuesday which was chaired by party President J.P. Nadda, and attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and other senior minister and leaders.

Sad that Scindia has switched to ‘Godse’s side’: Digvijaya Bhopal (IANS): Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh filed his nomination for the Rajya Sabha in the Assembly on Thursday as the Congress candidate. The party had not formally announced his name before he filed the papers. The Congress will finalise its second candidate later. The BJP has already announced the name of former Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia who joined the party on Wednesday. Scindia was expected to arrive in Bhopal at 3 p.m. but got delayed on Thursday. He is expected to file his papers on Friday morning. The BJP has also nominated Sumer Singh Solanki, an educationist from Badnagar in Malwa region, as its second candidate. While Scindia will replace Prabhat Jha in the Upper House, Solanki, a tribal, will replace former Union minister Satyanarayan Jatiya, another tribal. About Scindia’s candidature, Digvijaya said this contest has turned into a “battle of ideologies - Nehru-Gandhi and Godse.” “Unfortunately, Jyotiraditya Scindia has chosen that of Godse. We are sad about
this,” Digvijaya said. He claimed hundreds were transferred at the instance of Scindia. “Collector-SP was replaced in my home district. Even the election tickets were decided according to his advice. There was no problem in making him PCC chief or sending him to Rajya Sabha. Scindia’s name was also proposed to be the Deputy CM. But he wanted to make Tulsi Silavat the Deputy CM,” he said. Digvijaya thanked Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and Chief Minister Kamal Nath as well as all members of the Working Committee after filing his nominations papers. Digvijaya said 19 Congress MLAs have been “imprisoned” in Bengaluru. He said it was strange that the resignations of Congress MLAs were brought by BJP leader Bhupendra Singh and he expected the Speaker of the Assembly to accept them as well. “BJP calls it Congress’ internal matter, so why have they held them hostage in Bengaluru? Kamal Nath has asked for floor test and we are ready,” he said.

No Delhi riots if government had taken timely action: Congress New Delhi (IANS): The Congress on Wednesday hit out at the government in the Lok Sabha over its “delayed response” to the Delhi riots, claiming that the violence had not happened if timely action had been taken. Dubbing the Central government a “nikammi sarkar (incompetent government)”, Congress leader in the house, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, sought resignation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah for not handling the issue with sincerity and sought a judicial inquiry in. If National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval’s visit helped in controlling the situation, why didn’t the Home Minister visit the riot-hit areas, he asked. Initiating the debate on the recent law and order situation in some parts of Delhi, Chowdhury began by reciting Mahatma Gandhi’s favourite hymn ‘Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram’. Then in a jibe at the government, he said: “Was the government
could have been stopped if timely action was taken.” He sought to know why violence broke out despite the ability of Delhi Police. “The Delhi Police is called a modern police. They have all kinds of sophisticated weapons and measures. The Centre can also call paramilitary forces. Despite these things why did this happen? Where was the Home Minister?” Citing the expression - Emperor “Nero fiddled while Rome burned”, the Congress leader said the government was busy in arrangements for US President Donald Trump’s visit. “What was your responsibility during these three days of Delhi riots? Where was your MP (local MP and BJP state President Manoj Tiwari)? Did he go to sing Bhojpuri songs? What was the government doing when Delhi riots were happening? “Can we not stop Delhi riots, if we can strike in Balakot?” Chowdhury also took on the gov-
Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury not able to handle Delhi riots if it can conduct the Balakot airstrike (in response to the Pulwama attack)?” Hitting out at the government over the situation in northeast Delhi, where tension began on February 23 evening and turned deadly on February 24 with violence continuing till February 25 leaving over 50 people dead, over 350 injured and thousands of crores of property damaged, he said: “Delhi riots
ernment over suddenly transferring Justice S. Muralidhar from the Delhi High Court to Punjab and Haryana High Court through a notification issued close to midnight on February 26 -- the day a bench headed by him had pulled up Delhi Police for failing to register FIRs against three BJP leaders for their alleged hate speeches which purportedly led to the recent violence in northeast Delhi. Stressing “53 people were killed and Rs 25,000 crore property lost”, he said it was not the lack of ability of Delhi Police, but the riot happened because the force has been working in the direction of the Central government. Noting how Doval “showed the way to handle the situation”, Chowdhury asked: “Why was he sent to the field for law and order which is not in the jurisdiction of a National Security Advisor”. “A National Security Advisor directly reports to the PMO (Prime Minister’s Office). Is it not a signal
that the Ministry of Home Affairs was ignored and the matter was dealt directly from PMO? Why he had to come?” Accusing both the Central and Delhi governments of being silent, Chowdhury cited how a woman had grabbed the collar of the first Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru, as he visited the scene of a riot very late, as he asked whether it was not Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s responsibility to meet Delhi’s people? The Congress leader also sought to know why Home Minister didn’t visit the spot. “Why not you? You both (PM and Home Minister) openly gave a nod for Delhi riots. PM kept himself away from public indicating a coronavirus infection.” Accusing both the state and Central governments of incompetency in handling the riots, he demanded that the Centre should immediately conduct a loss estimate report.
Delhi University suspends classroom lectures, goes for e-learning New Delhi (IANS): In the wake of coronavirus outbreak, Delhi University has decided to suspend its classroom lectures and arrange students’ education material through its website. The move is aimed to bring down footfall on the university campus to avoid
spreading of the deadly virus. In a press release, the university administration said, “To maintain continuity in the teaching-learning process, in all undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, the study material shall be made available on a weekly basis on
the website by the respective teachers of all departments/ colleges/centres.” The arrangement will continue till March 31. The university has also ordered teachers to remain available as per their time-table through e-
resources. During the period, the internal assessment/house examination will remain suspended and would be taken up only after March 31. The DU announcement came after the Delhi government on Thursday declared coronavirus
as an epidemic with Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announcing that all schools and colleges where no examination is underway will also be closed till March 31 to check the spread of the virus.
Modi clueless about coronavirus, economy: Rahul Gandhi New Delhi (IANS): Accusing the Narendra Modi government of not taking adequate measures to contain coronavirus, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, here on Thursday, said, “Our Prime Minister is clueless and sleeping.” “There is no preparation. The government is sleeping. They don’t realise that coronavirus
NEW
is spreading in this country. It’s going to have devastating consequences. We are heading to the highway for an accident as a nation,” Gandhi said addressing the media at the Parliament House. “Only after when I tweeted on the COVID-19, the Prime Minister also started tweeting about it,”
he said. The coronavirus had worsened the already sinking Indian economy, he said and added, it was not just affecting the people but the economy too. “We have got to start taking emergency measures now. It’s already too late,” said the Congress leader. On the Yes Bank crisis, Gandhi

said during the Manmohan Singh regime when the country faced economic slowdown, the informal economy protected people. “Manmohan Singh and the UPA government handled the economy well for 10 years. But you (PM) spoiled it completely. It’s just the beginning of destruction. He started the destruction when
he imposed demonetisation and GST. People are going to face the full shock. Youths must ask the Prime Minister what has he done for their employment in these six years,” he said. “The Prime Minister is busy saving Yes Bank by using people’s hard-earned money,” Gandhi said.

Rana Kapoor, who was arrested early on March 8 was further sent to ED custody till March 16 by a Prevention of
Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court here in connection with the case. The official said that Rana Kapoor was the person who “controlled and managed” the affairs of these 78 companies. A senior investigative agency official related to the probe in Delhi said that Kapoor’s wife Bindu Kapoor was director in at least 42 companies, many of them investment companies, out of which some of them have been named in the FIR registered by the CBI for receiving kickbacks to the tune of Rs 600 crore [1 crore = 10 milliom] from DHFL as a builder loan. The official claimed that Bindu was a director in the main investment and holding companies associated with Kapoor, including Morgan Credits, Yes Capital (India), DoIt umbrella companies, RAB among others. The majority of these companies are realty ones like Bliss, Imagine, Mantra where the suspicion is that the money was siphoned off into realty ventures. In Delhi alone, Rana Kapoor had three bungalows. Meanwhile, Roshini Kapoor is the director of Morgan Credits Pvt Ltd and Doit Urban Ventures, Raakhee Kapoor Tandon is also the director of Morgan Credits Pvt Ltd and Radha Kapoor Khanna is the director of Morgan Credits Pvt Ltd and Doit Urban Ventures (India) Pvt Ltd. The ED official further said that during investigation, the amount of the loans sanctioned by Yes Bank was found to have gone up from Rs 4,300 crore to Rs 30,000 crore. He also claimed Kapoor has not been cooperating in the investigation and as yet he has not disclosed the proceeds of the crime. The ED has questioned Yes Bank chief Ravneet Gill for two days in the case and asked him questions about the amount of loans shooting up. The officer further said that the agency is going to summon other former Directors and
Rana Kapoor
corporates who got loans from the Yes Bank or whose loans were restructured by the bank. The CBI began a probe into short-term debentures of the DHFL in which Yes Bank invested Rs 3,700 crore from April to June 2018. The probe is part of another investigation pertaining to Yes Bank’s purchase of debentures from DHFL against which the company was granted loans totalling Rs 600 crore against a collateral security of around Rs 40 crore only. The loan amount later turned into nonperforming asset. It was alleged that DHFL’s promoter Kapil Wadhawan simultaneously paid kickbacks totalling Rs 600 crore to the Kapoors in the form of a loan of a similar amount to DoIT Urban Ventures, a venture owned by Rana Kapoor’s daughters -- Rakhee Kapoor Tandon, Roshni Kapoor and Radha Kapoor. It was also alleged that Yes Bank did not initiate action to recover the loans extended to DHFL. The ED also registered a case of money laundering on the basis of the CBI FIR and arrested Rana Kapoor on Sunday morning. One of his daughters was stopped from boarding a flight to London by Immigration Department officials at Mumbai airport.

National Investigation Agency charges 9 in 2019 Tarn Taran blast case New Delhi (IANS): The National Investigation Agency on Wednesday said it has filed charges against nine persons in the 2019 Tarn Taran blast case, in which two persons, who were engaged in digging a pit to retrieve concealed explosives, had died. An NIA spokesperson in Delhi said, “The agency filed a charge
sheet against nine people under several sections of the IPC and the Explosives Act in a Special NIA Court in Mohali. He said the agency has chargesheeted Massa Singh, Harjit Singh, Gurjant Singh, Manpreet Singh and Bikramjit Singh Panjwar, all residents of Tarn Taran, Chandeep Singh, a resi-
dent of Gurdaspur, Malkit Singh and Amarjeet Singh, both residents of Amritsar and one juvenile. The official said that Bikramjit Singh Panjwar is absconding. The official said that during probe it was found that the accused were radicalised pro-Khalistan youths who had formed a
terrorist gang under the leadership of absconding accused Bikramjit Singh Panjwar. “The members of terrorist gang carried out secessionist activities on ground as well as on social media to instigate the members of Sikh community to agitate for the secession of Punjab from India, the official said.
“They also illegally procured explosive substances, prepared and tested crude bombs to carry out terrorist acts in Punjab, he said, adding the accused had, lately, planned to target one ‘dera’ at Muradpura in Tarn Taran. The NIA had taken over the probe in September last year.
Punjab tests first positive case for coronavirus Chandigarh (IANS): Punjab on Monday tested the first positive case for coronavirus in a person who returned from Italy last week along with his family, the state government said.
“The man who returned to Amritsar from Milan has tested positive for coronavirus. He landed at the Amritsar International Airport via Delhi on March 4 along with his two family members,
Principal Secretary Anurag Aggarwal told the media. The patient belongs to Hoshiarpur town and has been hospitalised in Guru Nanak Dev Hospital where he is responding to
treatment along with his son. Earlier, preliminary tests from his swabs sent to AIIMS in Delhi tested positive. A total of 5,964 people with travel history to affected coun-
tries have been screened by the state Health Department so far. Ten persons showed symptoms of the virus as of Monday of which one tested positive.
Police ‘lathicharge’ protesters in Punjab Patiala (IANS): Nearly half a dozen protesters, comprising women, were injured in Punjab’s Patiala district after being lathicharged by the police at a demonstration against the failure of the Congress government to provide them jobs, police said. Several women protesters, who were injured, claimed that the police “attacked them without a provocation and they were pulled by the hair. A few policemen were among those injured as they tried to disperse the protesters who wanted to surround the Chief Minister Amarinder Singh’s private residence here. The protesters, belonging to ETT-TET Unemployed Teachers’ Union, were protesting against the failure of
the government to provide them government jobs in the Education Department. The protesters have cleared the Elementary Teacher Training (ETT) and qualified the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET). For several months they have staged a sit-in protest outside the residence of Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla in Sangrur town, demanding jobs. Police asked the marching protesters to disperse but they insisted to go towards the Chief Minister’s residence. As a scuffle broke out between protesters and police personnel, the police had to use force to disperse them. “We were protesting peacefully, but the police personnel attacked us with sticks without any provocation,
said woman protester Raj Rani. “The government is advocating promoting a girl child and empowering the women. Contrary to this, it used the force to silent our voices on the day when the world is honouring women on International Women’s Day, she said with tears rolling down. Another protester Surjit Kaur said the police, especially the male cops, were ruthless towards the women protesters. She claimed the male cops lathicharged them and pulled them by the hair. Former Education minister and Shriomani Akali Dal leader Daljit Singh Cheema said the lathicharge is condemnable. “The government must find solutions through talks and

towards the Chief Minister’s residence just to hand over their charter of demands when the police began the lathicharge. “This is commendable. The Chief Minister and his fam-
ily is not living here on many occasions. The protest was just symbolic. It was wrong to use force against the unemployed protesters, he said.

Age no bar for realising dreams for woman athlete, aged 103 New Delhi (IANS): Mann Kaur says age is no bar to realise one’s dreams and the 103-year-old feisty lady has proved it. One of the ‘Nari Shakti Puraskar 2019’ winners who were presented the award by President Ram Nath Kovind on International Women’s Day on Sunday amid a huge applause by those present, Mann Kaur began her athletics career at the age of 93. And in the last 10 years, she has literally run away with accolades across the globe -- bagging over 20 medals in track and field events. She believes participating in competitions gives her a lot of happiness. The same goes for her countless admirers too who watch her
run. Known as the ‘Miracle from Chandigarh’, has also been associated with the ‘Fit India’ movement, a tweet from the President said. Hailing from Patiala city in Punjab, the sprinter, who endorses Central government’s ‘Fit India’ Movement for remaining fit and healthy, was accompanying her 81-year-old son Gurdev Singh, also a veteran athlete. Kaur, who took to running at the age of 93, said she believes “age is no bar to realise one’s dreams”. Born on March 1, 1916, she won her first medal in 2007 at the Chandigarh Masters Athletics meet, in which she participated just for formality after seeing her eldest son
Gurdev taking part in a race in Patiala. And from then on, she has only added to her list of achievements. She won four golds (Track and Field) at the World Masters Athletics Championship in Poland. She has set a record by becoming the world’s fastest centenarian at the American Masters Game, 2016. She has won more than 20 medals in World Masters Games and America Masters Game. She is the oldest person to walk to the top of Auckland’s Sky Tower in 2017. Despite suffering from osteoporosis, she has displayed how determination is a key to success. Union Food Processing Minister Harsimrat Kaur congratulated her
by tweeting: “I salute the indomitable spirit of this 103-year-old
‘young’ lady, who shall inspire millions across the world.”

lowing a tip-off, but he was arrested as the police team foiled his attempt to shoot at them. Director General Police (DGP) Dinkar Gupta has announced a reward for the OCCU team for their bravery, and said raids were being conducted to nab other members of the gang and Gagan’s accomplices in the

Ludhiana case. Gagan was among the five suspects involved in the robbery, which took place around three weeks ago. Gagan Judge and his gang members are reportedly involved in more than two dozen crimes of contract killing attempt to murder, extortion, auto snatching and other serious criminal activities. He was closely with associated with another absconding gangster, Jaipal.
Giving details of the operation, conducted under the close supervision of Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh, IG (OCCU), the DGP lauded the team for the successful operation. Vijay Pratap Singh said around 31 lakh cash apart from one pistol, two magazines and 50 live cartridges had been recovered from the possession of Gagan Judge. He said the gang used to call its members on wireless handsets to avoid interception of phone calls.
Punjabi singer Sippy Gill charged for glorifying violence Chandigarh (IANS): Punjab Police on Saturday charged Punjabi singer and actor Sippy Gill for promoting violence through his latest song “GundaGardi” (Gangsterism). The case was registered at Mehna police station in Moga district. He was booked on a complaint filed by Chandigarh-based lecturer Pandit Rao Dharennavar. Last month, the police booked singers Shubhdeep Singh, alias Sidhu Moose Wala, and Mankirat Aulakh for allegedly promoting gun culture and violence through a song titled “Panj Golian” (Five Bullets).
Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh has already asserted that the government would not allow any movie seeking to promote violence or gangsters. Last month, he had ordered a ban on the movie “Shooter”, based on the life and crimes of notorious gangster Sukha Kahlwan. The Punjab and Haryana High Court had directed the Directors-General of Police (DGP) of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh to ensure that no song glorifies liquor, drugs and violence, even during live shows.

Salman Khan to rescue Katrina Kaif’s career crisis Though she’s at her stunning best these days, things are not going well career-wise with Katrina Kaif .She is regularly meeting the directors who would make a difference to her stagnant career. The latest being Rohit Shetty whom she has approached to be cast in Sooryavanshi opposite Akshay Kumar. Shetty one hears has met other heroines including Sonam Ka-
poor for the part. And Katrina is unlikely to get the coveted role. In the meanwhile Katrina’s mentor guide and best friend Salman Khan has galvanized into action, in more ways than one. The next instalment of the Tiger series is being planned ahead of schedule with director Ali Abbas Zafar, so that Katrina will show at least one ‘hit’ to her credit in the last two years. In an industry driven by self-interest it is nice to know some friendships far outlive professional interests.

Title : Help Ridge Meadows RCMP identify theft suspect Location : 22700 block of Lougheed Highway
GROUP
On Monday, March 9, at around 12:30 PM, police received a report that a man, alleged to be a suspect in the theft of a Green, Toyota Rav4, SUV, was observed in the area of the 22700 block of Lougheed highway. Upon police arrival the suspect fled and a foot chase ensued however, visual continuity was broken and the suspect evaded police. Police identified the man as the same suspect allegedly involved in a parcel theft from the doorstep of a local home earlier in the month. Moments later, police received a report that a man was washing his Silver, Chevrolet Silverado, truck in the same area and had left his keys in the ignition when a man matching the earlier suspect’s description had stolen the truck. Police responded and located the truck, attempting to stop the vehicle but the suspect drove the truck in a dangerous manner and police disengaged interaction. The Silverado was located a short time later, unoccupied, in the area of 222nd street and Selkirk. Police are releasing images of the suspect and a woman, who is allegedly an associate of the suspect, in order to further the investigation.

Nothing is as it seems and danger is on the table in The Whistlers. Talk about a dynamic exhilarating film experience. What’s best about The Whistlers is it is a completely original story. Add on exceptional performances and dazzling cinematography and you will be mesmerized by this descent into crime, political corruption and flat out suspense brought to us by insightful Mongrel Media. Hop aboard this one of a kind movie at the Van City Theatre. Having appeared oh so briefly at a film festival event earlier last year here’s a film actually worth revisiting or experiencing for the first time. Femme fatales mix with corrupt cops and highly charged criminals in the picturesque Romanian countryside. Despite being foreign with English subtitles you will take away im-
mense pleasure from this film noire showstopper. Like the title suggests The Whistlers sees the criminal underbelly elude the police as their clandestine operations go largely undercover by way of their unique language. If memory serves me correctly a secret language is used by the authorities to get into the minds of the gangs. That language involves whistling. Go figure.
So somehow the good guys try to get the goods on the baddies and do so while trying to fly under the radar. We’ll see Tense like a ticking time bomb The Whistlers is exciting explosive yet charming fun that will capture your hearts, manipulate your minds and truly leave you breathless. Shaken and stirred you will come out of this movie awestruck and totally satisfied. At least I did.

2020 Mazda Mazda6: Sleek Sport Sedan Delivers! Autoreview by Veeno Dewan The 2020 Mazda6 is a cut above other, a desirable sedan that looks simply gorgeous. Extensively revised from 2018, the 2020 Mazda6 continues to offer a unique exterior, well-appointed interior, and sporty driving dynamics to keep drivers satisfied. No clunky, weird angles, creases, awkward cut lines or overdesigned elements here. The 2020 Mazda6 keeps it simple, with elegant flowing lines, wonderful curves sleek junctures, and brilliant paint colors such has the iconic soul red metallic as on our tester. The Mazda6’s base engine is a 2.5-liter I-4 producing 187 hp and 186 lb-ft of torque. Upgrading to the turbocharged 2.5-liter turbo-four improves output to 227 hp (250 hp on 93-octane gasoline) and 310 lb-ft of torque. All Mazda6 sedans are frontwheel drive and use a sixspeed automatic transmission. For 2020, the Mazda6 is offered in five trims priced from a very competitive $27, 35 (GS model) to the GS-L, Grand Touring, and to the ultra - luxurious and lavishly equipped Signature trim as
tested at $39,150. We tested the top tier 2020 Mazda6 Signature with specific trim- exterior details like a dark gray-finish grille with a bright silver surround and badging. Also added were: 19” alloy wheels, LED Signature exterior and interior lighting, The Signature model arrives with the Skyactiv-G 2.5 T with Dynamic Pressure Turbo, SkyactivDrive 6-speed automatic transmission with manualshift mode, Drive Selection switch and paddle shifters, and G-Vectoring Control Plus. Interior Signature highlights include: Signature lighting Traffic Plus and Travel Link® services (includes complimentary 5-year subscription), meter-set with 7” digital LCD display, 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat with memory function. Signature models also arrive
windshield-projected colour Active Driving Display, Traffic Sign Recognition System, Adaptive Front-lighting System, 360° View Monitor. On the safety front, the Signature offers: Mazda Radar Cruise Control with stopand-go function, Smart Brake Support, Pedestrian Detection, Forward Obstruction Warning, Lane Departure Warning System, Lane-keep Assist System, High Beam Control, Smart City Brake Support, Advanced Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear and Cross Traffic Alert Interior wise, the Signature is nicely detailed with trimspecific unique stitching on the leather-wrapped steering wheel, a black headliner, LED ambient lighting, UltraSuede accents, and real wood trim pieces. What most owners will appreciate
is the comfortable and luxuriously appointed cabin with its expansive seats wrapped in Nappa leather upholstery. The seat arrive both heated front and rear with ventilated front seats, along with a heated steering wheel, The design is simple, ye expensive looking with a clean uncluttered, look. Rich looking wood and smart detailing add to the ambiance. All Mazda6 models are equipped with an 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen mounted on top of the dashboard. A console-mounted USB port, auxiliary audio input jack, and Bluetooth streaming audio are standard, Driver information is supplemented by a headup display system, while Mazda’s connect command system is an easy to use the intuitive infotainment and navigation system interface The Mazda6’s trunk holds up to 14.7 cubic feet of cargo, but the standard 60/40 split second row seat also folds for carrying larger items. The standard 187-hp engine offers a good balance of fuel economy and power offering good torque through the mid -range. I would personally opt for the turbo-four
as fitted to our tester. It’s a great engine, with lots of torque fir quicker acceleration the six-speed automatic transmission is a good match up. Thanks to a retuned suspension, the Mazda6’s already excellent handling gets even better, with a smoother ride, even more precise steering and impressively level cornering. A Drive Selection switch and paddle shifters, plus the G-Vectoring Control all add to the driver enjoyment and handling. The overall result is a very lee sporty driving sedan... Fuel Economy Ratings City: 10.0 Highway: 7.5 (L/100km). Downside are few, there are no hybrid options, the back seat is tight and AWD would be nice to have. Still these points are
overshadowed by the overall execution and finesse of this lithe, graceful looking sports sedan. You may want to know the Mazda6 has impressive safety scores From the NHTSA, with a the MAZDA top five-star overall safety rating, comprised of five-star front and side impact scores, and a four-star rollover score. If you’re looking for a sleek, modern sedan with sporty handling, the Mazda6 is right in the frame. Add the turbocharged engine and a Signature trim line with its classy interior and you cannot go wrong. Highly recommended. 2020 Mazda6 Signature MRSP: $39,150 Plus Options Freight and PDE $41,450. www.Mazda.ca

ductivity and revenue and reduces liability exposure. The 2021 Ram ProMaster is available in 18 different wheelbase and roof height configurations and features the 3.6-litre Pentastar V-6 engine paired with a proven six-speed automatic transmission. All ProMaster models come with a classexclusive front-wheel-drive system. ProMaster includes bestin-class features like standard V-6 power, turning radius, standard interior cargo height, load-floor height, cargo width between wheel wells and maximum cargo width. 2021 Ram ProMaster pricing will be announced closer to when the vehicle is available later this summer.
