The project includes a golden Guru Durbar on the lines of the Golden Temple. Jeet said the main attraction would be the intricate gold inlay work being done on the ceiling of Harmandir Saheb. "The entire project of gold work will cost Rs.50 crore," he said. Britain-based Baba Mohinder Singh is funding the development of Guru Durbar, that also

includes a facility for parking 100 vehicles. The committee is also constructing 100 fully airconditioned rooms for devotees, and planning an airconditioned Diwan hall for congregations. Mumbai-based businessmen Iqbal Singh and Surjeet Singh have been funding the construction of 100 rooms for gurdwara staff. The committee has also sent a proposal to the central government for Rs.1,200 crore for all-round development of Patna Saheb and a request for holy city status.

Suva/Cairns (Australia) (IANS): Leader of the coup in 2006, Voreqe “Frank” Bainimarama, has won parliamentary elections in Fiji, home to a large Indianorigin population, amidst opposition accusations of electoral fraud, according to provisional results released Thursday. The Fiji First Party of Bainimarama, who came to power in 2006 after a bloodless coup, received 60 percent of votes in the election. His rival, Teimumu Kepa, leader of the Social Democratic Liberal Par ty, received 26 percent of the votes, while the National Federation Party took five percent, according to the count of votes at 2,025 polling stations. Mahendra Chaudhry, the Indo-Fijian communitydominated Fiji Labour Party leader, came in fifth with two percent. He claimed that Bainimarama's party bought votes and that there were irregularities during the voting process, the New Zealand television channel TVNZ reported. International election observers will announce their conclusions later Thursday, although they said Wednesday that they had not observed any irregularities. A total of 249 candidates, including 44 women, were nominated to contest the 50 seats of the single-house parliament, constituted according to the new constitution approved last year by the authorities. Nearly 600,000 voters registered for the election, which was held Wednesday. The turnout was high. According to an earlier Xinhua report Thursday, the Social Democratic Liberal Party, National Federation Party, People's Democratic Party, the Fiji Labour Party, One Fiji Party, and the Fiji United Freedom Party, in a joint statement, charged that the elections were not free and fair.

BJP suffers poll reverses in 3 states, enters Bengal Jaipur/Lucknow/Ahmedabad/ Kolkata (IANS): The BJP Tuesday suffered major reverses in the assembly byelections in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Gujarat that saw the Congress and the Samajwadi Party bounce back, even as the ruling party at the Centre won a significant victory by getting a lawmaker into the West Bengal assembly after a 15-year hiatus. This is the third time that the Bharatiya Janata Party has suffered reverses in bypolls since the Narendra Modi government came to power riding on the back of a massive mandate in the April-May general election. The election results, which have led the jubilant Congress to declare that the Modi wave is over, also come as the BJPled government completed 100 days in power. In Uttar Pradesh, the ruling Samajwadi Party made a stunning comeback as it won eight of the 11 assembly seats that went for byelections. It also retained the Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat which was vacated by party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav. The only consolation for the BJP that had won all these 11 seats with its ally Apna Dal in the 2012 assembly polls were its victories in Noida, Saharanpur City and Lucknow East. In Gujarat, where Modi was chief minister for around 13 years till he came to the centre, the BJP won six assembly seats, while the Congress won three. The BJP also won the Vadodara Lok Sabha seat by over 300,000 votes. Bypolls were held for nine

NEW

assembly seats - Maninagar, Deesa, Tankara, Khambhalia, Mangrol, Talaja, Anand, Matar and Limkheda - and the Vadodara Lok Sabha seat Sep 13. The Congress won Deesa, Khambhalia and Mangrol assembly seats, while the remaining six went to the BJP. The Vadodara parliamentary seat was retained by the BJP after deputy mayor Ranjanben Bhatt won against Congress candidate Narendra Rawat by over 300,000 votes. The seat was vacated by Modi after he was elected to parliament from two places, including Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. For the BJP, the reversal in fortune was most stark in Rajasthan, where the Congress won three of the four assembly seats while the ruling BJP won only one seat The Congress won from Weir, Surajgarh and Nasirabad while the BJP won the Kota South seat. The West Bengal victory for the BJP, though a slender one, was most significant as the party after 15 long years will now have a representative in the assembly. The BJP's Shamik Bhattacharya won from Basirhat (South) while the ruling Trinamool retained the Chowringhee seat. Bhattacharya defeated Trinamool candidate and former Indian soccer captain Dipendu Biswas by a slender margin of 1,586 votes. The contest turned out a cliff-hanger as Bhattacharya trailed till the penultimate 10th round, but more than made up for the deficit in the final one. The victory made the BJP

assert that it has come up as an alternative in West Bengal and the results were a reflection of people's discontent for the Trinamool Congress and its lack of governance. The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) continued its poor show in the state, finishing third while the Congress was fourth. In Assam, the BJP, Congress and Lok Sabha member Badaruddin Ajmal's AIUDF party won one assembly seat each. The BJP snatched the Silchar assembly constituency from the Congress, while the ruling Congress retained the Lakhipur seat, and the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) retained the Jamunamukh seat in Nagaon district. In Andhra Pradesh, the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) retained the Nandigama assembly seat by a huge majority. In Telangana, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) retained the Medak Lok Sabha seat, though with a lesser majority compared to the general elections. In Sikkim, the lone RangangYangang assembly seat was won by seat Independent candidate R.N. Chamling, Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling's brother. In Tripura, the ruling CPI-M retained its seat in the Manu (ST) assembly constituency, defeating the Congress in the bypoll. Results of 32 assembly seats across nine states were declared Tuesday. Reacting to the emphatic win of his party in the bypolls, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister

Akhilesh Yadav termed it a victory of development and prosperity and said the people have rejected the communal brand of politics of the BJP. State BJP chief Laxmikant Bajpai conceded defeat and said the party will have to take stock of the reasons for its loss. "The responsibility of defeat is mine and on my team. The reasons behind the defeat will be reviewed. It has given us a lesson for the Vidhan Sabha polls," Bajpai said. The Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat was won by Tej Pratap Singh, grand-nephew of Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, who defeated his BJP rival Prem Singh Shakya by over 3.21 lakh

votes. The Rajasthan unit of the Congress was jubilant over winning three of the four seats. The party was decimated in the 2013 assembly elections, managing just 21 of the 200 assembly seats. The BJP had swept to power winning 163 seats. The results take the BJP's tally to 160 and the Congress strength has risen to 24. The Congress Tuesday said the results of the bypolls were a good signal for it and reflected that people were rejecting the policies of the BJP. Congress spokesperson Shakeel Ahmed said the party had done well in Rajasthan and Gujarat though it did not

perform to expectations in Uttar Pradesh. "The results, we feel, are good indications for the Congress and other parties that have won. These are bad indication for the BJP and its policies have, in a way, been rejected by people," Ahmed said. He said people of Uttar Pradesh rejected the policies of the BJP aimed at "spreading hate". In the first round of the bypolls held in Uttarakhand after the general elections, the Congress had won all the three assembly seats, while in the second round of bypolls, the BJP had lost six of the 10 assembly seats in Bihar.

Modi government improved economy, India's global image: President

Ho Chi Minh City (IANS): In a departure from custom, President Pranab Mukherjee Tuesday largely abandoned his prepared speech to the Indian com-

munity in Vietnam and instead extolled the Narendra Modi government for its steps to improve the economy and burnish India's global image. "After the new government (led by Modi) came out with a massive mandate, they also worked out... of course, it is too early to formulate cogent policies for the full five years and get it reflected in the plan document and other documents but the first budget presented by the new government outlines some of the crucial policies and there is substantial continuity and there is change (in policy) where it has been found necessary to do it," Mukherjee said in a sudden extempore address at the Indian community reception here. The Canadian Bookkeepers Association Mukherjee also praised the (CBA) offers you the opportunity of National Democratic Alliance's (NDA) foreign policy ventures, becoming a Registered Professional especially Modi's recent visit to Bookkeeper.

Pranab Mukherjee Japan. "One very positive aspect is that there is possibility of substantial FDI which was an important outcome of the prime minister's visit to Japan. And it is expected that in the next five years, investment from Japan would be around $25-35 billion," he said. The president also welcomed the results of Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott's visit to India last week. He also expressed high hopes for the much-awaited summit between Modi and US President Barack Obama in Washington later this month.

"Our prime minister is expected to have detailed interactions with US President Barack Obama and, therefore, the international atmosphere is favourable and I am (also) visiting Vietnam at this juncture when two fastest growing economies - India and Vietnam - are also engaged in having cooperation and interaction," he said. Mukherjee had a word of praise for Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who is part of his official delegation, calling him lucky for seeing the global petroleum prices come down in his tenure. In his prepared speech, Mukherjee had noted that every Indian in Vietnam has a significant role to play in bringing greater luminescence to and enhancing this relationship. He had held that he was confident that "you will continue to bring a good name to India". He also invited them to the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas to be held in Gandhinagar in January 2015.

Supreme Court seeks details on steps taken to improve sex ratio

New Delhi (IANS): Expressing concern over female foeticide and the falling sex ratio, the Supreme Court Tuesday asked the Centre to file an affidavit indicating the steps it had taken to curb pre-natal sex determination tests for improving the sex ratio which is sliding in most states. "The affidavit shall clearly indicate what steps have been taken and on the basis of the steps taken, what results have been

achieved," said the apex court bench of Justice Dipak Misra and Justice N.V. Ramana. The court said that affidavit should be filed by "the additional secretary of health and/or any other concerned additional secretary which shall reflect the response in the proper perspective". The court recorded 29 suggestions made by senior counsel Colin Gonsalves appearing for the petitioner NGO

Voluntary Health Association of Punjab on which it had sought the response of the Centre and the States. The NGO has sought direction to the "central supervisory board to review the functioning of the state/UT supervisory boards and submit a report to this court within one month." It further sought direction for immediate "reconstitution of the state and union territory supervisory

boards". The court asked the state governments also to file comprehensive affidavits "reflecting sincerity and responsibility" in curbing sex determination tests. "It should not be an affidavit in formality", the court said. Posting the next hearing of the matter Nov 25, 2014, the court gave four weeks to the states to respond, making exception in the case of Jammu and Kashmir by giving it six weeks to file affidavit.

Haryana boy among 15 Google science award contenders Gurgaon (IANS): A teenager from Haryana has invented a device to help patients of the dreaded ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease speak through their breath. His project is now among 15 shortlisted for the Google Science Fair Award 2014. Arsh Shah Dilbagi, a student of Class 12 in one of the three DAV Public Schools in Panipat city of Haryana, has invented "Talk", an innovative augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) device to tackle the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) disease. ALS is a neuro-degenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Motor neurons reach from the brain to the spinal cord and from the spinal cord to the muscles throughout the body. The progressive degeneration of motor neurons in ALS eventually leads to their death.

When the motor neurons die, the ability of the brain to control muscle movement is lost, and patients in the later stages may become totally paralysed, says the ALS Association based in Washington. Arsh submitted his project online in February. Hundreds of thousands of projects were submitted throughout the world as there was no fee to participate in the Google Science Fair. Ninety projects were shortlisted by the judges for further consideration, and of the 90, five projects were from India. "The 90 participants were interviewed online by the judges, and they selected 15 projects from nine countries, including India," Arsh told IANS. Arsh is now the only participant from the Asia region. He said his device Talk will help ALS patients speak through their breath.

The Google Science Fair website says Talk is a patentpending innovative technology which, using the variations in a person's breath, helps him or her either to dictate letters which are further combined as sentences or speak out specific phrases depending on the mode selected. Current such devices cost thousands of dollars but Talk can be made accessible under $100 and it also increases the speaking rate by at least 300 percent, it says. "Earlier, a single access switch device was the only way to help ALS patients, but its cost starts from Rs.10 lakh. Middle class families are not able to afford this device," Arsh said. He said that over 100 million people throughout world are ALS patients, more than the population of Germany. However, there was no data available about the number of

Saeed an evil mastermind of Mumbai attacks: India New Delhi (IANS): Describing Hafiz Saeed as an "evil mastermind" of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, India Monday said a criminal like him should be brought to book. Reacting to Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit's comment that Saeed was a Pakistani national and free to roam around, External Affairs Ministry spokesman Syed Akbaruddin said: "Our views on Saeed are very clear. He is the evil mastermind of the Mumbai attacks." Akbaruddin said Saeed was one of the accused in an Indian court for killings on the

Mumbai streets. "We have repeatedly asked Pakistan that he should be apprehended and taken through the normal judicial process. Alas, he has never been arrested on account of 26/11 ever. Therefore what you say is obvious, that he is only free because he is a Pakistani citizen," Akbaruddin said. To reported claim by authorities in Pakistan about India not providing enough information against Saeed, Akbaruddin said 99 percent of the evidence was in Pakistan as the "entire conspiracy was hatched" there.

"The planning of this dastardly act was done in Pakistan, the financing for this act was undertaken in Pakistan and the people who were involved were from Pakistan. "Therefore, it has always been our view that it devolved on Pakistan to ensure criminals like Hafiz Saeed are brought to book and justice is delivered in the instance of the crime in Mumbai," he said. A group of Pakistani terrorists Nov 26, 2008 opened fire and dropped grenades in different parts of Mumbai, leaving over 160 people dead

such patients in India, he said. Arsh will be leaving for California Sep 19. There will be an exhibition round Sep 2122, and results will be announced Sep 23. Six awards will be given among the 15 participants. There is also a voters'

choice award, and Arsh has appealed to the people of India to vote for him. One can vote by visiting www.googlesciencefair.com., then select Arsh's project and click 'yes' for him. Voting lines are open up to 12 midnight of Sep 15, said

Bobby Jindal to decide on presidential run after November

Washington (IANS): Louisiana’s IndianAmerican Republican Governor Bobby Jindal has acknowledged that he’s considering a 2016 run for president, and will make his decision after the November Congressional elections. His decision would not hinge on polls or fundraising, he told reporters at a Christian Science Monitor breakfast here Tuesday. Only 3 percent of Republican primary voters backed him in a new CNN/ORC poll of Republican presidential possibles in New Hampshire, which holds the first primary in the US presidential election cycle. The governor finished at the bottom of a field of 11 potential presidential candidates. But he says that would not be a factor, the Monitor reported. “If I were to decide to run for 2016, it would have nothing to do with polls or fundraising,” said Jindal. "It would simply be based on the same calculation that I made when I ran for... Congress or governor.” He lost the Louisiana governor’s race in 2003, won a US House seat in 2004, and

won the governorship in 2007 and was overwhelmingly reelected in 2011. The determining questions, he said, were, “Do I think I can make a difference, do I think I have something unique to offer?” "I think at this point polls are measuring name ID," Jindal was quoted as saying by CNN. "The first time I ran for office, I was... polling within the margin of error, which means I was at zero." "There's no reason to be coy," he said. "I am thinking, I am praying about whether I'll run in 2016." Jindal, who is vice chair of the Republican Governors Association, also touted the progress that Louisiana has made while he has been governor. Louisiana is becoming a state where more people are coming than going; boasting an economy that’s growing at twice the rate of the nation; creating more than 50,000 jobs, he said. Jindal called President Barack Obama the worst American president since Jimmy Carter. "Carter believed in American exceptional-

ism. I don't think Obama does," he said. "Obama's the most radical president, ideologically, in my lifetime. And I think he's the

most incompetent president." "Jimmy Carter," he added, "was just incompetent."

US ready to engage Modi's India Washington (IANS): Ahead of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's first visit, the US says that with a better understanding of each other's systems, it's looking forward to engage with India putting behind the ups and downs in their relationship. The US engagement with Modi has been "awesome and appreciated on both sides", said Nisha Desai Biswal, assistant secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs in a preview of Modi visit. US was looking forward to first summit meetings between Modi and President Barack Obama Sep 29 and 30 and the two leaders establishing a personal and institutional rapport, she said. "We are looking forward to the opportunity." Biswal said she had been a witness to the "ups and downs and trials and tribulations" in the relationship in recent past and through engagement had come out with a much better understanding of each other's systems. Referring to the Devyani Khobragade affair that had strained relations between the two countries, she said the two sides had a much better understanding of how Indian diplomats should comport themselves in US or how to deal with issues. On Chinese President Xi Jinping's ongoing visit to India, Biswal like other State Department spokespersons said the US wants India to have good relationships with all its friends in the region, including China. The US "was not looking at a business engagement between the leaders", she said but certainly business issues would come up for discussion during Vice President Joe Biden's luncheon for Modi, Secretary of State John Kerry and receptions planned by business associations both in Washington and New York. There is a strong desire on the part of the new Indian government to work through the "tough issues delaying the implementation of the civil nuclear deal, she said referring to the India's tough nuclear liability law that has stalled the landmark deal. "There is a very strong desire by this new government, and a very strong desire by the US, to work through those tough issues and to be able to make progress," she said though there are no expectations on this front from the coming meeting. Modi had indicated that his top most priority was "India's domestic transformation", Biswal said. The US "was deeply interested in partnering with India in that". The US can also benefit from such a partnership given that India was a centre of innovation, she said.

Talking to reporters, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the Pakistan Peoples Party 's (PPP) patron-in chief, also criticised the sit-ins being staged by Pakistan Tehreeki-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) in Islamabad at a time when the country is dealing with devastation of floods. Stating that it was a matter of ego, former president Asif Ali Zardari's son termed the protests "frivilous". He said if the media stopped showing the sit-ins, they would end. On another issue, he said there was no question of Sindh province being

divided and it wouldn't be fair to compare Punjab province with Sindh. The division was demanded by Mutthaida Qaumi Movement party. The National Assembly constituency from where Bilawal plans to contest the polls is viewed as "The fort of the PPP" as the seat covers the native home of former prime ministers Benazir Bhutto and Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. The seat was won by Faryal Talpur of the PPP in the 2013 general elections. He earlier won this seat uncontested in 2008.

Having examined all other possibilities, Wilson insists that Shah, 53, is responsible for the deaths of the 227 passengers and 12 crew members on board the doomed Malaysian Airlines flight, which disappeared March 8. The MH370 flight was a scheduled international passenger flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing that disappeared March 8. (Among the passengers were two Indo-Canadians: Muktesh Mukherjee, 47, and his wife Xiaomao Bai, 37. Mukherjee was vice-president of operations in China for the Pennsylvaniabased XCoal Energy and Resources (see photo). He is the grandson of the late Indian minister Mohan Kumaramangalam.) Wilson was scheduled to tell British aviation experts Monday that there have been five other suicide flights in recent times, as he travels from New Zealand to Birmingham for a meeting, according to a Daily Express report. He said: "Our research indicates there have been five previous incidents of murder/suicide in commercial flights over the last three decades or so, accounting for 422 lives. The sad addition of MH370 would bring that number to 661.' The theory is the result of the first independent study into March's disaster by the New Zealand-based air accident investigator Ewan Wilson. Wilson, the founder of Kiwi Airlines and a commercial pilot himself, arrived at the conclusion after considering "every conceivable alternative scenario". However, he failed to provide any conclusive evidence to support his theory. An earlier report from the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) also concluded that passengers may have died from hypoxia.

Yogeshwar India's best best to end long wait for Asian Games gold New Delhi (IANS): With the untimely pull out of two-time Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar, all eyes will be on London Games bronze medallist Yogeshwar Dutt as India will be hoping to break a 28-yearlong wait for a gold medal in wrestling at the 17th Asian Games that get underway Friday in the South Korean city of Incheon. It is the second consecutive time that Sushil, who won the gold medal in the 2014 Commonwealth Games, has decided to skip the Asian Games -- this time with an eye to the 2016 Rio Olympics. In the absence of Sushil, who also picked up a shoulder injury just before the Games,

the onus for winning gold will be on his childhood buddy Yogeshwar, who had also won the gold medal in Glasgow. Kartar Singh was the last Indian to win gold in Asiad wrestling - in 1986 in Seoul and now all eyes will be on Yogeshwar, in the freestyle 65 kg category, to end the frustrating wait for a long-overdue gold. Yogeshwar, who had also skipped the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games, had won the bronze in the 2006 Doha Asian Games. India's wrestling squad consists of 18 contestants -- seven freestyle, seven Greco-Roman and four women. A rich haul of medals is expected from the Greco-Roman section, tradi-

ICC World Cup trophy arrives in Pakistan Dubai (IANS): The ICC World Cup trophy arrived in Lahore as part of its visit to countries which will compete in next year's extravaganza to be staged in Australia and New Zealand from Feb 14 to Mar 29. Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq, who received the trophy at the Minar-e-Pakistan, said his team will leave no stone unturned in their bid to repeat the 1992 World Cup glory. "The World Cup is the biggest global tournament for a professional cricketer. All teams are gearing up for this event and all our strategies are building up to prepare ourselves for the challenge," the 40-year-old skipper said. "The Pakistan team's victory in 1992 in Australia and New Zealand is still the most special sporting achievement in the minds of our cricketers and all cricket fans in Pakistan," he said. Pakistan has been placed in Pool B along with India, Ireland, South Africa, tthe West Indies, Zimbabwe and the United Arab Emirates. After playing their opener against India (Feb 15 in Adelaide), Pakistan will take on the West Indies (Feb 21 in Christchurch), Zimbabwe (Mar 1 in Brisbane), the UAE (Mar 4 in Napier), South Africa (Mar 7 in Auckland), and Ireland (Mar 15 in Adelaide). The trophy was taken to Pakistan's cricket headquarters at the Gaddafi Stadium before it was sent to Karachi where it will be displayed at the National Stadium.

tionally India's forte in wrestling. This year too, the India contingent is particularly strong boasting the likes of five-time Commonwealth champion and Asian Games bronze medallist Ravinder Singh, Asian champion Krishan Kumar Yadav, World Championship bronze winner Sandeep Yadav, Asian Championship bronze medallist Manoj Kumar and Arjuna Awardee Dharmender Dalal. Hope are also pinned on Amit Kumar -- fresh from his Glasgow Commonwealth Games success and a leading contender for gold in the freestyle 57 kg category. World No.5 Narsingh Yadav has big shoes to fill as he will replace

Sushil Kumar in the freestyle 74 kg category. Glasgow silver medallist Bajrang Punia (61kg), bronze medallist Pawan Kumar (86kg) and silver medallist Satyavrat Kadiyan (97kg) complete the line-up in the freestyle category and all three are expected to mount a serious challenge for the gold medal. In the women's section, hopes are high from Vinesh Phogat (48 kg), Babita Kumari (55 kg), Geetika Jakhar (63 kg) and Jyoti (75 kg). But amidst all the optimism, the wrestling team's poor performance in the World Championships, in which the wrestlers failed to win a single medal in any category, provides

Arjuna Award for boxer Manoj Kumar: Sports ministry New Delhi (IANS): Incheon-bound boxer Manoj Kumar, who was forced to drag the sports ministry to the court after he was controversially denied the Arjuna Award, will finally get the prestigious award, an official said Wednesday. Sports secretary Ajit Sharan told IANS that the government had decided to bestow the Arjuna Award upon Manoj, a 2010 Commonwealth Games gold-medallist, after the Incheon Asian Games. "Manoj will get the Arjuna Award. He will be given the award after the Asian Games," Sharan told IANS. Sharan said the government took the decision after Delhi High Court requested it to consider whether the light welterweight boxer could be given the award. "The court had asked the ministry to reconsider the decision and we found that Manoj deserves the Award," Sharan added. Manoj, a quarterfinalist at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, was overlooked by the Kapil Dev-led Arjuna Awards selection committee, which mistakenly believed that he was involved in a doping case. Boxer Jai Bhagwan was selected ahead of Manoj. Sharan said Manoj not getting the Arjuna Award earlier was "a case of mistaken identity" as he was confused with a namesake who had tested positive for drugs. Manoj was again reassured by the ministry officials that his name would be added to a list of 15 athletes after a review meeting. But Manoj was again overlooked in the review meeting and it prompted him to take the legal route.

a grim reminder of the stiff challenge they will encounter in the Asian Games. The biggest disappointment was the fact that all the participating wrestlers failed to advance to the title rounds, bowing out from the initial rounds of the competition. The blank show may be due to the Wrestling Federation of India’s (WFI) decision to field a second-string team in the World Championships keeping in mind the Asian games. The WFI has selected its strongest possible team for the Asian Games and chose another set of wrestlers for the World Championships hoping that medals will come in the Asian Games because of this plan.

filed by three women, Krispy Khera, Maninder Gulati and Amarpreet Verma, against him. Khera is the wife of property dealer Devinder Singh Gill with whom Cheema and other police officers of Punjab and their relatives had invested crores of rupees in real estate. "A complaint was filed by Krispy Khera, Maninder Gulati and Amarpreet Verma against Gautam Cheema. To ensure free and fair probe regarding the allegations, Cheema was placed under suspension with immediate effect," a spokesperson of the Department of Home Affairs

and Justice said here. The Punjab Police had registered cases against Cheema last month on the charge of abducting a proclaimed offender (PO) from a police station. He was also booked for alleged molestation. Cheema, who was posted in the information technology and telecommunications wing, was booked along with three others, including a woman, for allegedly abducting proclaimed offender Sumedh Gulati recently from a police station in Mohali, 10 km from here. Gulati had been brought to the police station for questioning. He is said to be a

close associate of Gill, who was arrested recently by the Haryana police in a case of alleged rape. Police officials said that Cheema and his accomplices came to the police station in a private vehicle and took Gulati away even while he was being questioned after his arrest. Gill's wife Krispy had complained to the police earlier that Cheema had allegedly tried to molest her. A number of officers, including police officers, are said to have invested millions of rupees in unaccounted money with Gill in real estate but he conned them.

Punjab seeks review of tax holiday to industry in hill states

Chandigarh (IANS): Claiming that the extension of tax holiday for industrial units in hill states was affecting Punjab, the state government has decided to approach the central government in this regard. Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal said that the tax concessions were detrimental to the interests of industry in Punjab and that the state government would urge the Centre to review the tax holiday granted to neighbouring hill states. Badal said that Punjab

would seek a review of the special facilities granted to neighbouring states and would also ask for a special package for the state's industrial sector. The Congress-led United Progressive Alliance government had in January this year extended the tax holiday for industry in neighbouring Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand till March 2017. Punjab had termed the move "discriminatory". Badal had said that Punjab was losing out on industrial investment due to tax conces-

sions given to neighbouring states. Punjab being a land-locked state, along an active and hostile international border with Pakistan, has been demanding tax concessions for the state's industry. Scores of industrial units in the state have shifted base to hill states like Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand due to massive tax holidays offered there. In the past nearly two decades, no major industrial investment has taken place in Punjab.

ChaiTime 6 Steps to Finding the Perfect Career Getting a job is not the goal. Finding the perfect career is. Millions of people in the world are unhappy in their jobs. Why? They have limited options. They are afraid to change. They have chosen careers that are not a good fit for their talents, or careers about which they are not passionate. But you can avoid those pitfalls and take charge of your work life. Here are 6 steps to finding the perfect career.

SUDOKU

to use your major differently. An education major might be useful because of its emphasis on planning; an accounting major might save you the expense of hiring someone else to balance the books for your entrepreneurial venture. It’s all about reframing.

want to manage others? Make a wish list for your perfect career, and decide what is absolutely essential versus what would be nice to have. Refuse to compromise on the essentials. Your perfect career is not just good enough; it’s perfect.

Step 3: Know what you’re made of

Step 5: Interview jobs; don’t let jobs interview you

It is impossible to find your perfect career without understanding yourself. Take assessments. Know your strengths and weaknesses. Discover your passions. Understand your motivations. Your perfect career is not the same as someone else’s perfect career, and the more you know about what you’re made of, the easier it will be to determine the right fit.

When you know what you’re made of, and you’ve defined your nonnegotiables, use them to decide whether or not a role is right for you. Interview prospective employers and screen potential jobs. Will this job fuel your passion in 6 months? 6 years? 60 years? How will it allow you to contribute in a meaningful way? Do most of the responsibilities line up well with your strengths? Will you have help in areas of weakness? If not, it might be better to look elsewhere. Have the confidence to say, “My perfect career is out there, and this is not it.” Employers look for people who know themselves well

Step 1: Create options If you want the perfect career, you have to know what you want, and what you don’t want. This requires options. Luckily, many ways to create options exist: gain expertise through online classes or seminars, grow your connections by joining networking groups, update your resume and post it to several job boards, hire a career coach. Any or all of these will increase your visibility and expertise, and therefore the number of potential options for your perfect career.

HOW TO PLAY: Digits 1 through 9 will appear once in each zone - one zone is an outlined 3x3 grid within the larger puzzle grid. There are nine zones in the puzzle. Do not enter a digit into a box if it already appears elsewhere in the same zone, row across or column down the entire puzzle. Solve Time: Under 13 min. - Genius; 13-17 min - Scholar; 17-21 min - Smart; 21-25 min - Not bad; 25+ min - Keep practising DIFFICULTY LEVEL : MEDIUM

Step 2: Don’t be afraid to change Most people start out with an idea about what their perfect career might be, and most people end up in a career that is different than the one they considered first. That’s OK. College majors are not life sentences. If you didn’t find the perfect career the first time around, you can still create it. Consider ways

Step 4: Define your nonnegotiables Does your perfect career require work/life balance? Does it require a certain income level? Does it have a high degree of autonomy? Do you

and carr y themselves with confidence. If the fit for one role is not ideal, they might approach you with another that would be better for you. Step 6: Be patient Sometimes the perfect career is developed, not found. Most people don’t start their careers with a very high income or an opportunity to manage others. Often, specific experiences are necessar y prerequisites for the perfect career. If you have a job that affords you these experiences, it might be worth remaining patient in order to have more options later. Also, never take a job just to have one. It’s true that sometimes beggars can’t be choosers, but this is about finding the perfect career, not just finding a job.

Punjab accuses Himachal of polluting Ghaggar river

Chandigarh (IANS): After asking authorities in Chandigarh to curb pollution of Ghaggar river, the Punjab government has now accused Himachal Pradesh of polluting the river through industrial and domestic discharge. Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal Monday urged his Himachal Pradesh counterpart Virbhadra Singh's personal intervention "for jointly putting up an effective monitoring mechanism in place for cleaning the river Ghaggar". In a letter to the Himachal Pradesh chief minister, Badal apprised him about the deterioration of water quality of Ghaggar in Punjab. He pointed out that it

has been brought to his notice that sewerage waste was being discharged into rivulets and drains in Himachal Pradesh which later joined the Ghaggar. "The Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) has conducted a survey of Ghaggar to check various sources of pollution entering it. It has been observed that untreated or partially treated industrial effluents and sewage from Nahan, Parwanoo and Kala Amb areas enter into Ghaggar through various streams and drains which were a major source of contamination of Ghaggar water," Badal said in the letter. Badal urged the Himachal Pradesh

chief minister to issue directions to officers of concerned departments in the hill state to take immediate steps to check the discharge of untreated and partially treated domestic and industrial waste into the river. The Punjab chief minister emphasized the need to evolve a joint monitoring mechanism, comprising the officers of the departments concerned from both the states, for preparing a time bound joint action plan to check and control pollution in Ghaggar. He urged Virbhadra Singh for a joint meeting in Shimla to find a permanent solution to this issue.

Punjab seeks higher compensation for farmers

Chandigarh (IANS): The Punjab government Saturday sought higher compensation for farmers for their losses due to natural disasters. Expressing concern over the meagre compensation given to farmers for losses due to natural disasters, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal said that he would take up the issue with the central government. Interacting with the media on the first day of his tour to assess the losses due to

rain in the water-logged districts of southwest Punjab, Badal pointed out that the Rs.3,500 per acre compensation given by the Centre to farmers for loss due to natural disasters was "too miniscule". "In the wake of the exorbitant hike in prices of agriculture inputs borne by the farmers to raise their crops, the compensation should be enhanced," Badal said. He said that the state wanted to give higher financial assistance to farmers but the "riders imposed by the union govern-

ment barred them from helping the victims of this natural tragedy which was unfortunate". He said that the situation of the farmers should be viewed liberally by the centre. Badal announced that the cooperative department in Punjab has been directed to postpone the recovery of loans from the farmers in the wake of the havoc created by the rains.

“KAUN Banega Crorepati” (KBC) turns fourteen this year and so does Amitabh Bachchan's association with the popular game show. The Bollywood megastar finds the longevity “alluring”. "KBC an association of 14 years and its

longevity still alluring,” the 71-year-old tweeted. It was in the year 2000 that Big B associated himself with KBC, which also marked his foray into the world of television. Not only was the show hugely successful, it widened Big B's reach, thanks to his demeanour and humility. KBC, the Indian version of internationally popular show “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire”, is currently in its eighth season and is aired on Sony Entertainment Television. Celebrities like Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone and Rani Mukerji have already made their appearances in the ongoing season. (IANS)

2014 Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid Platinum Edition: Sleek and sophisticated

By Autoreviewman

For 2014 the Nissan Pathfinder returns with a more svelte body and the option of front-wheeldrive. And you can forget about the Pathfinder being a boxy, rugged looking offroader. The new Pathfinder is totally different, with unibody construction and a sleek, curvy styling with body colored front and rear fascias. For 2014, Nissan has also added a new hybrid

option for its Pathfinder, using an all-new powertrain that is also shared with the CUV's Infinitibadged QX60. Aside from the power plant, the Hybrid Pathfinder we tested looks identical to the non-hybrid sibling with only unique redesigned LED tail lamps and exterior badging marking it out. The 2014 Pathfinder Hybrid is powered by a supercharged, 2.5-litre inline four-cylinder engine good for 230 horsepower and 243 pound-feet of

torque. In addition there is a 15-kilowatt electric motor, which brings over-

all system output up to 250 hp and 243 lb-ft. Transmission is via a con-

tinuously variable transmission. Despite looking way too nice for off-roading, the Pathfinder Hybrid does have features such as: hill descent control, low range gearing, and manually locking differentials and optional driver selectable All-Mode 4×4-i, which allows for 2WD, Auto, or 4WD modes. Interior wise, the Pathfinder has a comfortable, generous cabin. The front leather seats are very nice with thick, high-quality leather surfaces. The dash looks WEEKLY STK#SR5173 well designed MSRP $29,110 and works well e r g o n o m i c a l l y. Good high- quality black plastic fittings dominate and there is plenty of on-board storage. Monitor, Bose 13-speaker system with Acoustic Waveguide technology and a DVD Family Entertainment System with dual 7-inch screens and wireless headphones. With three rows of seats there are seven seats in all. The middle-row seats have decent legroom as the seats can move backwards as they are on rails. The third-row seats are more for kids or small adults, however they do recline and feature their own heating ducts and speakers. Cargo space is an impressive 453 L of trunk space behind the third-row seats. Fold down both rows of seat and storage space grows to 2,245 L. On the road the Pathfinder Hybrid performs well and the ride is smooth and comfortable with tactile, well centered steering. The brakes feel strong and well sorted. On long drives there were no complaints from passengers who liked the roomy, airy cabin, nice features and big windows. Compared to the standard Pathfinder, this hybrid model is 228 pounds heavier (comparing Platinum trim levels). Yet you don't really feel the added weight on the road ad the Hybrid's 243 lb-ft of torque comes on at 3,600 rpm versus the nonhybrid's 240 lb-ft at 4,400 rpm. The electric assist at acceleration means the big Pathfinder has decent enough pickup. However the go pedal does need a fair amount of prodding. Fuel economy is rated at the 7.8L/100km City and 7.1L/100km Highway figure. To sum up the new 2014 Pathfinder turns out to be a comfortable, roomy family hauler with a lot of luxury and style. Highly recommended. 2014 Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid priced from $49,198. MSRP with freight and PDE - $50,918

2014 Toyota Highlander V6: All new and over here!

By Auto Reviewman

First introduced in 2005 the Toyota Highlander Crossover was given a few revisions for the 2013 model year and carries on with a few changes. For 2014 the Toyota Highlander, the third-generation Highlander still has three-row seating along with some new features inside and out, with new steering, suspension, a new transmission and a new all-wheel-drive system. The fourcylinder engined entry model is gone and now you have a choice of either a V6 or V6 hybrid version. Incredibly pricing has not been increased despite additional features. On the outside, the 2014 Highlander has grown 75 millimetres in length, 15 mm in width and is 30 mm lower. New Apillar designs, a lower roofline and fresh exterior detailing give it a smart, contemporary look. All 2014 Highlanders arrive teamed with a 3.5-litre V-6 engine paired to a new six speed automatic gearbox. The hybrid Highlander runs on the fuelsaving Atkinson cycle and a three electric motors and uses a continuously variable transmission. The 2014 Highlander arrives as LE, XLE and Limited trim levels along with the hybrid version The LE comes arrives with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Our tester was the 2014 Highlander LE V6 AWD. As stated before the LE, XLE all come withthree-row seating or with captain’s chairs in the Limited. As standard equipment on our tester included: 3-Zone Independent Manual Climate Control, Cabin Air Filter, Air Conditioning, Audio: AM/FM/CD/MP3/WMA , Bluetooth Capability, Multifunctional Steering Wheel Controls, Audio, Auxiliary Input Jack, USB Audio Input, Auto Sound, Levelizer (ASL), Voice Recognition, 6 Speakers and a 6.1" Display Screen. As standard safety equipment included: Upper Tether for Child Restraint Seats (Middle: 3,Rear: 1) , Front Passenger Airbag Status Indicator, Dual Stage Driver & Passenger airbag, Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), Front Seat, Mounted Side Airbags, Front and Rear Side, Curtain Airbags, Driver Knee Airbag, ISOFIX Anchors for Child Safety Seats (Middle: 2), Child Protector Rear Door Locks, and Front Seatbelt PreTensioners and Force Limiters. The Highlander features a comfortable and roomy interior with plenty of creature comforts. Ergonomics are particularly good, a typical Toyota strength. Larger display screens on the up-level audio/navigation systems are very useful and the novel Driver Easy Speak system allows frontseat occupants to talk to third row occupants via a microphone in the headliner and speakers in the rear! Storage space is also very good with a huge centre console, and 30 per cent more storage space behind the third row. The rear hatch is electrically operated on the XLE and Limited models and can be set to three height levels. The third row seats like most third row seating is good for kid or small adults, but can get cramped for adults on long drives. On the road the Highlander rides smooth and comfortable and the suspension copes with all road conditions. It is no sports car, but with its refined Camry underpinnings it has exemplary road manners - with a quiet engine and smooth shifting transmission.

Real off- roading and boonie-bashing will tax this mild mannered CUV however it makes for a great urban, suburban and highway cruiser. Maneuvering around town and parking is easy thanks to the well weighted electric power steering and large steering wheel. The Highlander is tried, tested and proven and makes for a decent economy minded family hauler with the option of seating for seven, No real vices to report and is good value for money given Toyota strong resale values.By Auto Reviewman Horsepower/torque figures from the 3.5 V-6 270 horsepower engine are -hp/248lb.ft with a fuel economy figure of (litres/100 km): 11.1 city/7.9 highway.

Toyota says the new transmission and all-wheel-drive system make a major contribution to improving fuel mileage by 10 to 12 per cent.

2014 Toyota Highlander. Base price: $34,180.00 V6 LE price as tested including taxes and PDE $36,003.

China again aims to dominate Asian Games Incheon (South Korea) (IANS): Banking on a contingent of 1,300 members, comprising athletes and officials, China aim to dominate the 17th Asian Games, the continent's premier sporting event, starting here Friday, for the ninth consecutive time. China will be participating in all but one of the 36 sports kabbadi - at the Sep 19-Oct 4 Games, with 33 Olympic champions in its squad, reports Xinhua. "We consider the Asian Games an important part of our preparation for the 2016 Rio de Janerio Olympic Games," said Xiao Tian, deputy chef de mission of Team China. "We hope that our athletes can show their fighting spirit and sportsmanship at the Asian Games and maintain our No. 1 position in the medals table." At the last Asiad in Guangzhou in 2010, China topped the table for the eighth

straight time with 199 golds. It grabbed 416 medals overall, to 232 for South Korea and 216 for Japan. China will likely dominate table tennis, gymnastics, diving, badminton, weightlifting, and track and field, while fielding competitive athletes in other sports of the Games, with a total of 439 gold medals up for grabs. But Liu Peng, chef de mission of Team China, stressed that the performance of the "Big Ball" (soccer, basketball, volleyball) teams will carry great significance. "Our teams of the three 'Big Ball' events face uphill battle in Incheon," said Liu. "I hope that they won't be daunted by the challenge and can make a breakthrough." To his disappointment, however, China's men's soccer team went down 0-3 to North Korea Monday in their group opener at the Incheon Asiad, and their women counterparts were held goalless by

Japan. While former National Basketball Association (NBA) star Yi Jianlian is absent in Incheon, China's hopes in basketball are also dampened. China's badminton coach Li Yongbo is hoping his team can win all seven gold medals on offer, with legendary badminton star Lin Dan -- known as "Super Dan" -- and reigning world women's single champion Li Xuerui in the line-up there. As the world gymnastics championships are scheduled for Oc 3-12 in China, many of the Chinese star gymnasts will be missing the Asiad. Men's horizontal bars world champion Zhang Chenglong and parallel bars world title holder Lin Chaopan will not be in Incheon. In track and field, China are hoping to better the 13 gold medals won in Guangzhou, with hopes high in men's long jump, women's shot put, dis-

Mumbai to host World Bodybuilding Championship in December Mumbai (IANS): Mumbai will host the 2014 World Body Building and Physique Sports Competition Dec 7-9 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, NESCO. The championship, being hosted by the Indian Body Builders Federation (IBBF), will witness more than 400 national and international athletes. For the first time, India will also witness women body builders and physique athletes taking part in the competition. The competition will be

divided into 35 categories with both men and women vying for top spots in body building, model physique, athletic physique and sports physique categories. There is a separate category for junior and master's for men's body builders below the age of 21 and 40-49 years (below 80 kg and above 80 kg), 50-59 years and 60-69 years. "This particular competition will enhance the importance of this fitness sport. We will

have participants from every corner of the world making it a very remarkable event which will motivate this fitness sport in our country," organising committee chairman Madhukar Talwalkar said. Elaborating on the Indian participation, IBBF general secretary Chetan Pathare said: "The Indian contingent with A and B teams will be represented by body builders from the Services, Railways, other affiliated sports boards and 29 affiliated state units."

cus and long-distance running. But, China's top hurdler Liu Xiang, who has yet to regain fitness following a foot injury which forced him out of the London Olympics, will not be able to defend his Asiad title. China has won 55 table tennis championships in the past

ten Asian Games and swept all seven gold medals in Guangzhou. If it wants to match the feat, it must do so without veteran Wang Hao and defending women's champion Li Xiaoxia. "The Asiad will largely be used as a platform for young aspiring athletes to get inter-

national competition experience," said Liu Guoliang, head coach of the Chinese table tennis team. "We don't care much about how many gold medals we win in Incheon. We're focusing on the Rio Olympics," he added.

Bit clumsy in real life too: Sonam Kapoor

BOLLYWOOD'S style diva Sonam Kapoor says she is as clumsy as her character in her forthcoming film "Khoobsurat". She has been tagged as a royal misfit in the posters and trailers of the film, a remake of Hrishikesh Mukherjee's directorial venture that starred Rekha and Rakesh Roshan in the lead roles. While Sonam has replaced Rekha, Pakistani actor Fawad Khan has stepped into Roshan's shoes in the remake. Asked how much she relates to her character, Sonam said: "I am a bit clumsy in real life too, but I feel that it's difficult being clumsy in reel life because you have to do all the wrong things on cue, and at the right time." Sonam also feels that every girl will relate to her

role in the film, when it comes out Friday. "It's the story of all those girls who don't want to change themselves because of others. Every girl will relate to my

character and my journey in the film," she said. "Khoobsurat" has been directed by Shashanka Ghosh and produced by Sonam's sister Rhea. (IANS)

Avril, Chad heading for splitsville?

Los Angeles (IANS) Singer Avril Lavigne's marriage to musician Chad Kroeger have reportedly hit a rough patch. However, the couple is still working to save their relationship. The two have been fighting a lot and they're having a lot of trust issues, reports eonline.com. "The main issue is this: When they met, they were in work mode. They were doing a collaboration and that's where the attraction stemmed from. She was in the studio and he was producing her. She was also coming off some bad relationships where she didn't really feel appreciated as an artist. She felt she and Chad connected on that level," said an insider. “And now that the album didn't do as well as they had hoped… they're finding that they're not seeing eye to eye on a lot of things," the insider added. The duo's issues extend beyond their professions, however, and it seems as though trust and timing are two things that Lavigne and Kroeger have problems with. "There's jealousy on both sides. She flirts, he flirts. She's very insecure to begin with. I think for now they're going to try to work it out," said the insider.

Miley Cyrus shows off fake buttocks on Instagram

Los Angeles (IANS) Singer Miley Cyrus, known for her crazy antics, has posted two racy videos showing off her enlarged prosthetic buttocks on Instagram. Cyrus is seen blow-drying her hair while singing, dancing and even twerking backstage in the video before her Bangerz tour date in Monterrey, Mexico Wednesday, reports dailymail.co.uk. Along with the fake derriere, Cyrus wore a shimmering white top and thong, which really showed off the bodacious behind. In one of the videos, she runs her fingers through her short, platinum hairs and said: 'I don't even need wigs b****es.' Then she proceeds to gyrate her hips to bounce her fake behind up and down before walking through the curtain.

An allnew 2.4-liter 16-valve inline 4cylinder engine employs direct-injection and Acura’s iVTEC®valvetrain, and is significantly lighter than previous Acura engines of similar con-

figuration and displacement. The new engine is mated to an all-new 8-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT) with torque converter. This new 8speed DCT takes full advantage of the 2.4-liter engine’s broad power band, delivering incredibly quick and smooth gear changes, expertly matching engine revs on down shifts, and putting the power down in a responsive and intuitive way. For even greater power and performance, there is a 3.5liter SOHC V-6 that also employs direct injection and iVTEC variable valve control and cam timing along with fuel-saving Variable Cylinder Management™ (VCM™) cylinder deactivation technology. The 3.5-liter V-6 is mated to a new 9-speed automatic transmission with closely spaced gear ratios and a wide overall ratio range to further extend engine performance and fuel efficiency. Both the 2.4-liter and 3.5-liter TLX models will target EPA fuel economy ratings at the top of the midsize luxury sedan class. The TLX SH-AWD™, available exclusively with the 3.5liter V6 engine and 9-speed transmission, employs a new generation of Acura’s signature Super-Handling All Wheel Drive™ technology that is 25 percent lighter and incorporates new torque-vectoring control logic. Understanding that customization is a key component

of luxury, the TLX will feature an Integrated Dynamics System (IDS) to allow for further personalization and a sportier driving experience. The four driving modes – ECON (Economy), Normal, Sport, and a new Sport+ mode – take full advantage of the TLX’s high-performance capabilities. Depending on which mode the driver selects, the Integrated Dynamics System will adjust Electric Power Steering (EPS), throttle response, SH-AWD and P-AWS control logic, transmission shift mapping, Active Noise Control settings and HVAC control in accordance with the preferences of the driver. Also in keeping with its luxury sedan status, the TLX was designed to deliver vault-like quietness in all driving conditions, with major improvements in noise reduction through enhancements to body stiffness, body sealing and sound insulation, and the application of The TLX was designed and developed in the United States by Acura engineers working in the company’s Los Angeles design studio and Raymond, Ohio new-vehicle development center. The new TLX will be produced using domestic and globally sourced parts at the company’s awardwinning Marysville, Ohio auto plant, which presently manufactures the 2014 Acura TL performance-luxury sedan.

The Simplest Ways To Clean Up The Toxins In Your Body 1. Cut processed foods out of your diet. Fruits, veggies, unprocessed whole grains, and lean meats should be the only things you eat. This helps your body recover from some of the junk food you’ve been eating (don’t worry, we all do it!). By removing highly processed foods from your diet, you’re also cutting out excess fat, sodium, sugar, and, often, ingredients such as high fructose corn syrup. Unprocessed food will cleanse your body and leave you feeling awake and alert (and might just help you shed some pounds in the process). 2. Drink green tea. Green tea is full of antioxidants which help speed up your metabolism. It also hydrates your body very effectively, and can help prevent diseases such as the common cold. Sipping on green tea even once every day can have you reaping the benefits. 3. Do stretching exercises. Stretching, especially stretching that involves holding one pose for a long time, such as in yoga, can help oxygen flow through your body, thus aiding in the detox process. After even a short session, you’ll feel loose and relaxed. 4. Sweat. More intense exercise, like cardio, can do wonders for your body. We all know exercise is good for us, but what you might not know is that it helps your body rid itself of toxins. Sweating can release some of these toxins and draw them out through your skin. 5. Drink tons of water. Water can flush unwanted toxins out of your body. By drinking a lot of water, you can expedite the detox process. This will also lead to other benefits, such as better skin and a slimmer waistline. 6. Meditate once a day. Toxins can exist in the mind, too. Mediation is a

great way to relax and let your mind wander. Once a day, perhaps after you wake up in the morning, meditate for at least 15 minutes. Sit up straight and try to empty your mind. Afterwards, you’ll feel calm and relaxed. Making this a daily habit will contribute to your long term happiness and help keep the toxins at bay. 7. Go for a steam. Going to a sauna can do wonders for the detox process. It’s very relaxing, and the sweating draws toxins out of your body. Just make sure to rehydrate after you’re done, as steams can leave your body with a lot less moisture than it had going in. 8. Get regular. If you’re not regularly using the restroom, then your body is holding onto toxins that it shouldn’t be holding on to. If you’re having a consistent problem using the bathroom regularly, then it might be time to get a laxative or talk to your doctor about possible problems associated with this issue. 9. Take deep breaths. You can do this anytime, anywhere. At various points throughout the day, take some slow, deep breaths. This allows your body to get the oxygen it needs, and will keep you awake and energized. Deep breathing helps clear the mind and the body. 10. Don’t smoke or drink. This can be hard, but smoking and drinking just supply the body with more toxins. In order to detox fully, you should cut these things out of your life. Not only will this help keep toxins away, but it will also make you healthier. Smoking can lead to serious respiratory problems, and drinking introduces sugars and fattening substances to the body. It also damages the liver if done for too long.

2014 Infiniti Q50: Luxury, technology and class! By Auto Reviewman The 2014 Infiniti Q50 fourdoor sedan has a unique enough look, not as aggressive perhaps in character as the G37, but with enough styling differentiation to make it look distinctly dynamic and athletic. The front fascia is particular attractive. All Q50s feature as standard full LED lighting. The Q50 is also stiffer and lighter due to strategic use of high tensile steel. Infiniti claims an overall 26 kg weight reduction. All 2014 Q50 models come with a choice of either Infiniti’s 328-horsepower 3.7-litre V6 or the new Q50 Hybrid powertrain which combines a 302horsepower 3.5-litre V6 with a 50 kW electric hybrid motor rated at 67 horsepower and 214 lb-ft of torque. The hybrid setup also features Infiniti's direct response hybrid system with intelligent dual clutch control. The standard transmission is a 7-speed automatic transmission with optional solid magnesium paddles. The 2014 Infiniti Q50 3.7-litre V6 and 3.5-litre Hybrid models are available with a choice of rear-wheel drive or Intelligent All-Wheel Drive, and in a range of "S" sport appearance and performance features offering upgraded sport brakes and sport suspension. Canadian pricing starts at $37,500 for the base rear-drive 328-hp Q50 3.7 with 17-inch alloys and leatherette interior. At the top of the rear-wheel range is the fully loaded Q50S (Sport) at $47,950. All-wheel drive models range from $43,400 to $51,750. The hybrid comes in both RWD and AWD,

ranging from $47,000 to $56,450. New technology is very impressive and includes Infiniti direct adaptive steering system, uniquely engineered to control the Q50's tire angle and steering input and allowing even faster driver responses than a traditional mechanical system would. The adaptive steering setup also allows customization based on driver depending on road conditions. The Q50's takes the lane guidance and warning system to another level with its Active Lane Control, which uses a camera-based lane marker detection system to keep the car in designated road lanes. Meanwhile, the Predictive Forward Collision Warning (PFCW) system can warn driver of risks they may not see is enhanced by its ability to sense the relative velocity and distance of a vehicle directly ahead and also two vehicles ahead. The technology here is pretty impressive -, the updateable Infiniti InTouch Mobile Apps will read your texts and Facebook messages, understand your commands, and download Google Map routes from your iPhone or Android. For those who may be lending the car to junior, the Infiniti features the Geofencing remote monitoring system that can keep an eye on how they are using the Q50 using a number of parameters. On the road.the 2014 Infiniti Q50’s new 3.7L V6 engine is improved and lightened. The 328 horsepower comes on strong at the mid- range of the tachometer in a pleasing burst of smooth power.

Acceleration is rapid but controlled with lots of passing and high speed cruising speed. The Q50 has fast reflexes and relishes it when you put the power down. The ride of this sports suspension is certainly on the firm side. The 3.7L V6 making 269 lb-ft at 5,200 rpm – feels bullet proof all the time and this is one of the best engines in this class when mated to the strong slick 7-speed automatic gearbox Revised intake and exhaust tuning, along with a taller final drive ratio mean fuel economy is improved with EPA estimates for the RWD Q50 3.7 are 10.6 L/100 km city and 6.7 highway. The All-wheel-drive Q50 nets 11.3 city and 7.3 highway. The allwheel drive Q50 Hybrid, (Not tested) is rated at 7.5 city and 6.3 highway. The Infiniti Q50’s Direct Adaptive Steering is the world’s first automotive application of fully drive-by-wire steering. This unique system uses steering wheel-mounted activators to monitor driver inputs and then sends electronic signals through microprocessors, to activators located at the wheels for a super precise and quick steering adjustments. All this trickery is controlled seamlessly by onboard computer. This same system using radar and cameras also scans the road surface and painted lane lines and The lane-departure detection system will warn you if the Q50 is drifting out lane, but it can actually steer the car back in between the lines. Note, however for added safety, a conventional steering rack is also fitted as a

backup safety aid. The Q50 is very refined and a pleasure to drive, with its comfortable cabin, sporty handling and pleasant road manners. The willing engine delivers the speed and acceleration of the Infiniti’s we know and love so

much. But it is all handled with excellent steering and handling reflexes. The new 2014 Infiniti Q50 delivers the ultimate sports sedan technology, innovation, luxury and performance in a wonderful package for costing thousands

less than the competition. Join’s a long line of superb Infiniti vehicles. By Auto Reviewman 2014 Infiniti Q50 Sports sedan. Priced as tested - $51,095 including options and PDE
