Run for the Runway
Hi! How are you today and what are you currently working on?
Thank you for the interview, it’s really a pleasure to shoot for Volant Magazine. I used to living in Paris as a fashion photophotographer, shooting mainly for celebrities and brands. However, gradually I found a little bit boring and would like to explore more possibilities in my life so I moved to New York City last year. I am currently working on a cyberpunk style shooting in New York, which is going to be shoot around next week, where I am going to make a contrast of ordinary people’s lives and freedom of being high-tech-low-life.
What was the concept about your submitted editorial?
Since I have worked as a fashion photographerin Paris before, I’ve done a lot celebrityshooting during fashion week. Thus thisshooting was inspired by those celebritiesor KOLs running for fashion shows, havingfun and spare no efforts running for the nextshow and being chic at the same time.
Where do you take your inspiration from?
Usually I was inspired by something happensto me, including my dreams, or somemovies and paintings.Dream can actually be a really imaginativeplace to find inspiration. Even you cannotremember the whole dream, some detailsare always worthwhile noting them down, which are pretty much the same situation ineverything happen in life. Just some details, they might be really inspiring when you aremaking a moodboard for shooting.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I would prefer to regard myself as a young fashion photographer using my visual language Chic and interesting with details which worth people a second regard. I hope myself to deep dive more on the social events and topics around our lives, to learn and get inspired by them. Personally I also would like to have more opportunities to work with different talents in fashion photography and shoot more interesting and chic images.
Photography is a passion. Why do you feel passionate about taking photos?
I took my first camera when I went to rural village for teaching children English in the mountains 8 years ago, by that time I realized that I enjoy taking pictures from then on. My career path is closely connected to my personal history, French literature is my university major and I spent many years in France, both studying and working. I worked in Richmont before, where I got the chance to shoot fashion, and got addicted to it eversince. With fashion photography, I got to know numerous talents and interesting people, met with hundreds of thousands of incredible challenges. I am creating my world and expressing myself through my visual language, which empowered me a lot all the time. Then I realize, yes, this is what I want my life to be.
What do you like about VOLANT?
Freedom and stylish, those are what I appreciate Volant Magazine the most. And I believe working with Volant will come out with great images and result. I am looking forward to work with volant again in the future.
