Earlier this year I went to West Oz with the Volcom surf team - Dusty Payne, Zeke Lau, Mitch Coleborn, Super Coach Matt Bemrose and other Volcom International team for the Margaret River Drug Aware Pro. Here are a few images and insights into what goes on while some of the team are traveling chasing valuable tour points that aren’t always seen through the magazine’s and online.
This is Balaram Stack out the Box just before he got picked up by Volcom. You would never think a guy that comes from New York would love surfing slabs and be one of the best guys in the water at Pipeline on any day.
Dusty was in fine form back from injury. Fit, strong and focused. A standout throughout the event, all the way to the final.
