Volunteering

Summer is an excellent time to explore volunteering abroad, but there are excellent opportunities closer to home too. Here are some reasons why you should volunteer this summer.

Flexibility - your time, your place. Enhance your CV. Develop your skills.

Meet new people.

Try something new.

Give back to society. Add to your personal achievement.

Gain a whole new perspective. Make change happen. It's fun!

Debra is the national charity that funds research and healthcare to support individuals and families affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa.

Debra focuses its work in two areas: We fund pioneering research to find effective treatments and ultimately, a cure for EB. We provide care and support to improve the quality of life for individuals and families living with EB.

Do you enjoy making a difference in people's lives?

WHAT DO VOLUNTEERS DO?

There are lots of different ways that you can help. Most of our volunteers come along for a couple of hours a week in the evening and help children with activities.

Volunteering with BB is very flexible, if you can only help out once a month, or even once a year at the annual camp then we are happy to welcome you.

WHAT IS THE AGE LIMIT?

You can volunteer from 14+ as a Young Leader, with a wider range of roles for those volunteers aged 18 years and over. There’s no upper age limit.

We really do welcome applications from all ages, even college and uni students following teaching & childcare courses. We value every volunteer just as we value every child and young person.

Peer Support Volunteer

Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland supports groups across Scotland to meet the needs of people living with chest and heart conditions and following a stroke. Peer support groups give people the chance to share experiences with others who understand what they are going through.

Peer support groups have various reasons for coming together. It may be to meet socially, take part in physical activity or learn how to live well with their condition. Each group is unique and tailored to the needs of its local community. Everyone involved with the group will have a say in how the group is run.
