Hi.

Did you know when you said those words to me 13 years ago you would trap me inside my own body?

Because that’s what you did. You trapped an eight-year-old girl inside her own mind. A prisoner to herself.

When I tell you that “I love you,” the words are empty. They mean nothing. They fall out of my mouth like an afterthought. I wish they were true; it would be better that way.

You’re a lesson I had to learn. You do make me laugh, but I don’t think I’ll cry when you leave. Those tears have already happened.

----Not your little girl
