Agenda Item 24 MEETING OF DÚN LAOGHAIRE AREA COMMITTEE 1st September 2014 PEDESTRIAN CROSSING ON LOWER GLENAGEARY ROAD
Question:
Councillor M. Merrigan
“To ask the Chief Executive what measures, if any, have been taken by the Council to assess the need for a pedestrian crossing on Lower Glenageary Road near its junction with Silchester Park in order to facilitate the safe crossing of this very busy road by local residents, many of which are senior citizens, school children and passengers alighting from local bus services on either side of this roadway?”
Reply: “There are no proposals at present to provide a signalised pedestrian crossing on Lower Glenageary Road. However, the Traffic Section will assess the location in the vicinity of Silchester Park junction with regard to pedestrian movements and bus stop locations to establish if there are definite pedestrian desire lines which would make the provision of a crossing feasible. This assessment will be put on a future work programme of items to be examined subject to the availability of in-house resources.” Contact:
John Broderick, Senior Executive Engineer, Traffic Section.
