Aoeteroa, as New Zealand is known in Maori, features some of the most breathtaking scenery in the world. There are very few opportunities to experience the South and North Islands in a comprehensive way such as cruising. This cruise is unique as it is a one-off itinerary which will not be repeated. We have partnered with Scenic and their beuaitful Scenic Eclipse II for this maiden golf cruise.

Picture yourself sailing into Milford Sound & Doubtful Sound from the inviting waters of the outdoor pool, and watching cascading waterfalls fall from the sky along ancient fjords. Then, imagine looking out from the sauna to see whales breaching in the distance, or waking up to hundreds of dolphins leaping out from the sea as we sail into Akaroa. This what it’s like cruising in new Zealand. This ship has a limit of 228 guests with six dining options. The Scenic Eclipse II epitomises small-ship luxury cruising as the world’s first discovery yacht.

This cruise sails the south-eastern coast of New Zealand, from Dunedin to Milford Sound and Stewart Island, before tending north-east to Akaroa, Kaikoura, Nelson and Picton. Then, we sail to the North Island, stopping in Napier to play the famous Cape Kidnappers, a World-Top 100 Course, before rounding the north coast to disembark in Auckland. This golfing itinerary has never been done before, and Voyages.golf are proud to deliver this exceptional trip to our exceptional guests.

Our Queenstown Golf Week 2024 was our 3rd trip with Voyages and we have at least two more booked. From the first email to the final goodbye Voyages are exemplary in every aspect. No detail was overlooked and they make you feel so very welcome. The accomodation at the Crowne Plaza was great - perfect central location... the golf courses at Jack’s Point and Millbrook were outstanding and our day trip to Walter’s Peak was amazing...superb BBQ buffet. We wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Voyages if you want to experience a great golf trip.

The west coast of New Zealand’s South Island offers some of the country’s most stunning scenery. You’ll cruise through Fiordland National Park, which covers more than 1.2 million hectares of granite peaks, shimmering lakes, deep black fjords and spectacular waterfalls. Rudyard Kipling described Milford Sound as the ‘eighth wonder of the world,’ and for good reason. The best way to explore the Sound is cruising along its waterways which we will do from the comfort of our super yacht.

You may like to join your fellow guests on the Observation Terrace to watch the magic unfold over a cocktail from the heated pool.

DAY 5: Cruise Doubtful & Dusky Sound

Tuesday 24 February 2026 - (B,L,D)

Captain Cook named Doubtful Sound in 1770, because the entrance looked too small and so he chose not to sail in it. Over the centuries, it has kept its stunning beauty well-hidden and even today remains a place of serenity. Cruise close to craggy cliffs rising from the water, looking out for bottlenose dolphins and the Fiordland Crested Penguin.

We’ll continue south to Dusky Sound, one of the largest fjords in New Zealand, stretching for 40 kilometres. It’s accessible only by air or sea, meaning very few tourists get to experience its majesty.

DAY 6: At Sea (B,L,D)

Wednesday 25 February 2026

Today perhaps you’d like to take things slowly, starting with breakfast brought to your suite by your butler, enjoyed on the Verandah looking out over the ocean. Or you could start the day with an invigorating work out in the gym or a complimentary class in the PURE: Yoga & Pilates Studio.

DAY 8: Kaikoura Sightseeing (B,L,D)

You’ll arrive in Kaikoura early this morning with fantastic views of the surrounding mountains. This tiny town sits in a spectacular natural environment, flanked by the Pacific Ocean on one side and the snow-capped Seaward Kaikoura Range on the other.

The town began life as a whaling station in the mid 1800s; visit the oldest surviving building, Fyffe House, or the Kaikoura Museum to learn more about its history. It’s also an ideal place for wildlife encounters. Whales, fur seals and dolphins live permanently in these waters, and an impressive array of seabirds fill the air, including the mighty albatross.

It’s just a short cruise to the city of Nelson, one of the sunniest cities in New Zealand. It’s bursting with open-air cafes, bustling markets, breweries, cycling trails and the pretty Botanic Gardens. Enjoy a late departure tonight, giving you a chance to experience a little Kiwi hospitality after dark.

DAY 10: Malborough Sounds, Picton (B,L,D)

Sunday 01 March 2026

It’s worth waking up early this morning so you can experience Marlborough Sounds. Ask the butler to bring you coffee to your suite so you can soak it in from your private verandah.

Spend the morning in Picton, a picturesque town overlooking Malbourough Sounds. Wander the pretty waterfront promenade, lined with shops, cafes and galleries. Picton is a short drive from the famous Marlborough wine region, which produces around two-thirds of New Zealand’s wine. A winery visit is also an option.

Non-golfers, later this morning you will arrive in Napier and you’ll feel as if you’ve stepped back almost 100 years. It retains all the charm and style of its heyday with the largest collection of authentic Art Deco buildings on Earth.

DAY 12: At Sea (B,L,D)

Tuesday 03 March 2026

Perhaps you’d like to spend some time today relaxing in the Vitality thermal lounge, where you can explore Nordic bathing experiences, infra-red saunas, and chromo-therapy pressure showers.
