DISCOVER HIDDEN DEPTHS TO YOUR FAVOURITE DESTINATIONS If your idea of a holiday is to discover hidden depths to the places you visit, then our small-ship cruises are for you. In Spain, Aegean Odyssey sails along the Guadalquivir River right into the heart of Seville, capital of Andalusia and home of flamenco. To fully appreciate the vibrant atmosphere of this city, we include a flamboyant flamenco performance on board. In Venice, we organise an exclusive, private evening visit to St Mark’s Basilica with special lighting illuminating the spectacular mosaics. Or take the opportunity to explore more off-the-beaten-track destinations, including the wonderful remains at Butrint in Albania, the spectacular coastlines of Croatia and Montenegro, and the Renaissance gem of Urbino in Italy. Wherever you travel with us, we provide meticulously-planned and guided shore excursions, plus an on-board lecture programme that helps you truly discover the hidden depths of all these incredible destinations.

3

SPECTACULAR SIGHTS

Venice, Italy

One of the advantages of small-ship cruising is that you are able to sail as close as possible to some of the most dramatic and beautiful scenery in the world. Cruising coastal waters and certain rivers means you can appreciate the true magnificence of these destinations as you relax on deck or even from your suite, stateroom or cabin.

4

NEW ADVENTURES

Iceland

This year we have an exciting range of new destinations including Ireland’s dramatic west coast and the city of Cork, as well as the stunning vistas of Bantry Bay and the Donegal Peninsula. Other “must-sees” on our new British Isles cruises include the bucolic Channel Islands, the historic Roman city of Chester, and the tranquil Isles of Scilly off the Cornish coast.

UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCES IN EXCEPTIONAL DESTINATIONS With fantastic journeys ranging from Athens, Rome and the other great centres of antiquity, to the Greek Islands, the glamorous Cote d’Azur and the wine regions of Portugal and France, every port of call will provide you with something to remember forever.

VOYAGES FOR ALL SEASONS Starting in the spring sunshine of the Canary Islands and western Mediterranean, every journey has been designed to take advantage of the seasons. Along the way you will enjoy cocktail parties in historic palazzos, special events in historical buildings, expertly guided tours of the great treasures of antiquity and social events such as sherry tasting in one of Spain’s top bodegas. As the southern Mediterranean begins to overheat in the high summer months, Aegean Odyssey will sail for the more temperate climes of new destinations in northern Europe, where you may stroll through some of the most stunning landscapes in the world including the Lake District of England and the land of myths and legends, Iceland. Bantry Bay, Irreland

FASCINATING HISTORY

Then, having enjoyed northern Europe during high summer, when autumn arrives Aegean Odyssey will head south again, calling at France, Portugal, Spain, Morocco and Italy as she makes her way to the Aegean and Greece.

Blacknock Castle, Cork, Ireland

Every one of our cruises will take you somewhere with an ancient culture to explore, and unlike most larger vessels, which may offer only a brief stop-off in certain destinations, like Venice for example, our itineraries often include overnight stays giving you more time to explore the sights, shops and restaurants while also learning more from one of our expert guides.

THE VOYAGES TO ANTIQUITY DIFFERENCE

COMPLIMENTARY SHORE EXCURSIONS From the Acropolis in Athens to an overnight stay in France’s chateaux country, we ensure you see the best a country has to offer.

A Voyage to Antiquity is a world away from the hustle and bustle of the large megaliners. It’s also exceptional value, with so much included in your cruise fare that costs extra elsewhere. As well as the friendliness and the more personal service of a smaller ship, you’ll also be able to access smaller ports, and sail along rivers and estuaries that would otherwise be off limits. Add to this the expert company of our guest speakers and the unique experiences planned ashore at certain ports, and you’ll soon discover why so many experienced cruise passengers prefer our small-ship differences.

FOR OUR SOLO TRAVELLER 26 dedicated single cabins in 7 different categories, low supplements and a convivial atmosphere on board make us a popular choice if you travel alone.

FREE AIR TRAVEL Book a Grand Voyage and enjoy FREE return flights from Australia or New Zealand to Europe.

METICULOUSLY PLANNED ITINERARIES AND TOURS ASHORE Your time ashore is as important as your time on board, that’s why we include shore excursions in virtually every port of call. Where we don’t, it’s because your time ashore can be spent exploring independently. Mykonos, for example, is the perfect spot for people-watching from a café overlooking the sea. Each passenger will be provided with a QuietVox headset, allowing you to hear the guide clearly even at the busiest of sites. Together with our special events which add local colour and flavour, your visits to these wonderful places will be as memorable as possible.

9

TRAVEL WITH THE EXPERTS For those who like to know more about the places they visit, our guest speaker programme will be invaluable. With a series of lectures after dinner or during days at sea, develop your insight into the history and culture of the world’s greatest civilisations. The guest speakers who accompany you are all first class. They have been carefully selected for their knowledge of the areas and ability to bring life into the history of the remarkable civilisations we visit. The guest speakers are featured on each itinerary page, and you can find full biographies online at

AEGEAN ODYSSEY THE BEST OF SMALL-SHIP CRUISING Classically elegant, but far from stuffy, Aegean Odyssey provides wonderful service and an intimate atmosphere on board. Carrying around 350 guests, Aegean Odyssey’s advantage is her size, and the ability to visit ports too small for larger vessels, navigate close to scenic islands, and even cruise upriver to major inland cities. CRUISE IN COMFORT, RELAX IN STYLE On board Aegean Odyssey you’ll experience the finest traditions of cruising. With open-seating dining, inside or al fresco, a relaxed dress code, several bars and lounges, and an understated approach to evening entertainment, you’ll feel at home minutes after setting foot on board. By day, the spacious decks provide the perfect place to unwind as you sail to scenic harbours and ancient sites. Public spaces offer a classic elegance and the top deck is a wonderful spot to watch the world go by during the day or enjoy a nightcap looking at the stars in the evening. The Ambassador Lounge is where our speakers inform and our musicians entertain, whilst the Charleston Lounge is the perfect place to meet friends – old and new – with light music and a little dancing. During days at sea, enjoy the sun on the Lido Deck or cool off in the outdoor pool. Start the day with an early morning yoga session or plan a visit to the Athena Health Spa & Gym.

WONDERFUL FOOD WITH IMPECCABLE SERVICE

A TASTE OF THE WORLD The gastronomic culture of using the very best fresh local ingredients cooked in a simple but delicious style is the inspiration for the menus on board Aegean Odyssey. The elegant Marco Polo Restaurant has full waiter service and a casual country club elegance. The Terrace Cafe offers a combination of indoor and outdoor seating replicating the charm and ambience of a seaside trattoria. Here, in the evenings, Tapas on the Terrace offers a selection of mouthwatering appetisers – try our calamari and empanadas, or pick from the wide range of authentic Italian pizzas. And in the afternoons, enjoy the tradition of taking tea at sea. You’ll find a selection of freshly-prepared sandwiches, cakes and scones. IT’S OUR PEOPLE THAT MAKE THE DIFFERENCE

After all is said and done, what passengers love most about Aegean Odyssey is the warm and intimate atmosphere. Ships, like people, have personalities. Some are proper and formal. Others offer the anonymity of a large hotel. On board Aegean Odyssey you are greeted as a returning family member even if it’s your first time on board. You’ll find smiles and welcomes from everyone from the Captain to your cabin steward. And unlike a vast megaliner, it is easy to socialise and meet fellow passengers whose passions and interests are similar to your own. Ask any world traveller where they receive the best service and they will undoubtedly answer the Far East. Of all the nationalities in that part of the world, it is the Filipinos who carry the highest reputation for attention to detail. Fluent in English and always serving with a smile, our Filipino crew will win your hearts. Your cabin steward will refresh your stateroom before you even realise you need it. Your waiter will remember whether you take tea or coffee, and the barman whether you like your Martini shaken or stirred. They, and the rest of our officers and crew, are dedicated to making your holiday a delightful experience.

15

Step aboard Aegean Odyssey for a voyage that will stay with you forever. From the wonder and fascination of Ancient Greece to the spellbinding nature of the Scottish Isles and Iceland, there is an itinerary to tempt you. Throughout 2017, Voyages to Antiquity will be delighting and surprising its guests with new ports of call, off-the-beaten-track destinations and carefully planned time ashore. We look forward to welcoming you on board.

Cancellations of, or changes to, itineraries may be made for a number of reasons including (but not limited to) war, civil unrest, industrial disruption/strikes, natural disasters, adverse weather conditions, adverse travel advisory warnings issued by Governmental organisations, insufficient bookings or to maintain and protect the safety of passengers, crew and the ship. You can choose to either accept the alternate arrangement(s) which we will advise to you, or to cancel your booking and receive a refund of moneys that you have paid to the travel agent for the services that were to be provided by Voyages to Antiquity. Please note that for any changes to embarkation or disembarkation port that requires guests to change their flights and routing, compensation is limited to a maximum of AU$750 per person. Changes to any Port of call in your itinerary Changes to the order, or substitution, of any dates or times at the Ports of call in the published itinerary are not considered a significant change and do not entitle you to any refunds or compensation. Normal cancellation fees will apply should you choose to cancel when advised of these Ports of call changes prior to your travel departure. The ship’s captain is responsible for the safety of the ship, passengers and crew. The captain has absolute discretion in making any alterations during the cruise to the published itinerary as the captain considers necessary and no compensation or refunds apply. Your rights in all other situations In all other situations, neither Voyages to Antiquity nor the travel agent or any of their affiliates, subsidiaries, employees or agents have any liability to you and you will need to ensure that your travel insurance will compensate you for any and all delays, cancellations, or changes to any part of your total travel itinerary that occur. This includes any airline or ground arrangements that you may have.
