if you haven't already registered online (go to vppa.org, click membership on the menu, and log in. Seminar registration is one of the options). Every year, the VPPA puts on an annual convention in the winter and a summer seminar, both of which are covered by your annual dues. If you aren't going to them, you are missing out on golden opportunities to learn, improve your art and your craft, and make money from photography. As President Kevin Hurley wrote in the most recent VPPA magazine, you will get out of this organization only what you put into it. And it is crucial you put into it at the very least the effort it takes to attend the educational opportunities available. You can't learn stuff if you skip class! Because of the seminar, the Blue Ridge Region is not having a separate meeting in September. Go to the Seminar, you'll be glad you did. But coming up in October it looks like we'll have Gordon Kreplin at David Lee Michael's studio on October 22 for an all-day workshop. Gordon was PPA Photographer of the year in 2009,2011, and 2012. If you've heard him speak before, you know what a treat this is. If you've not heard him before, you are in for a treat. Note please that October 22 is a tuesday. We're letting you know this in advance so you can save the day now. Gordon was not available on Monday, so we've gotten the best available date from him. Reschedule appointments for that day, get off work, whatever it takes, you've got to be there for one of the most amazing and wonderful programs the Blue Ridge Region has ever presented. Invite your photographer friends, even if they aren't VPPA members, you and they have got to be there. Michael
