➢ BACKGROUND STUDY: • Athletes are at the mercy of the Sports Federation and suffer their apathy as well as their lack of understanding of the nuances of the sport or the realities of being an athlete. • Close to 82% of individuals drop out of competitive sport between the age groups of 15 - 18 years. The dropout rates are even higher for girls. Contributing factors include academic pressure, declining interest levels, lack of career opportunities, lack of financial support and high-performance pressure. And the dropout rates increase with higher age groups in India. • While looking to develop sports, India needs to build out its sports properties beyond the leagues. Even better would be if we build our own events on the same lines to promote localization culture, food, heritage and tourism. One of the major reason that India is falling short in Olympics because lack of injury rehabilitation centre.

➢ LOCATION: GREATER NOIDA, NCR • The Site is 3 acres (approx. 12000 sq.mt) of Land Parcel on the Yamuna Expressway adjacent to 5000 acres of jaypee green sports city and Tehra cricket stadium in greater Noida, NCR. It has a rich biodiversity and serves as a vital lung space to the upcoming new sports town. ➢ SITE JUSTIFICATION: This location gives us an advantage to explore health and wealth of sportsman in an ailing city with rapid urbanization & ever increasing sports facilities. It allows us to set a benchmark in surrounding area because there are sports complexes, stadiums and sports courts but no sports injury rehabilitation centre.

INFERENCE: The design responds to the site by opening it up to the nature creating healing green spaces to make live the life again. In the building level, the courtyard acts as a sub-space for all the adjoining spaces and provides visual connection to all other spaces. The first block of recreational activities is placed to the centre of the site and two other blocks of medical and fitness which are placed adjacent to the middle block allowing life to flow from the pyramid to the site.
Responding to the site layout the Final Zoning of various blocks of the rehabilitation centre was done keeping the Emergency & Operation Blocks near the main access road while keeping the ward block and fitness block facing 4 kind of spaces for natural views & thermal comfort.
