VSO School of Music: Summer Programs 2015

Page 1

Create your own musical getaway at the VSO School this summer. Escape into music without leaving the city, with exciting week-long programs for all ages and stages at the VSO School of Music. Our beautiful, secure, state-of-the-art facility is conveniently located next to the Orpheum in the heart of Vancouver, with underground parking and easy access by public transport. Kids from 3yrs old are introduced to the fun of playing music in World Music Explorers, Music Sampler and ColourRhythm camps, and get started on strings the right way with “Meet the Violin” and “Meet the Cello”. New this year, our Acoustic Guitar Workshops for youth and adults give budding guitarists a chance to shine and socialize, and a new Voice Intensive: Anything Goes! allows anyone with a song inside them to perfect it at their own pace. The ever-popular Jazz Workshops for teens and adults returns with a choice of two weeks, while Strings in the Evenings invites adult beginners to get their first taste of chamber music in a supportive environment. And if you’d like to learn the harp? We’ve got that covered too. All programs are led by our highly-trained, committed and passionate faculty members, who are dedicated to helping you or your child get the most out of the summer months. So try something new this summer and escape the grind with a musical vacation at the VSO School of Music.
