INSPIRED BY PASSION We believe that passion enhances how the work is done. We dedicate our energy and our enthusiasm on each detail. Our desire is to deliver what we love. From the selection of the wood to the final frame assembly, every step of the production process is meticulously considered. Our independent and handcrafted manufacturing process provides us a control in production, design and in the materials we choose. It allows us to produce a quality that speaks for itself. But also to release products that are carefully selected and tested to provide comfortable, sustainable and eco-friendly frames for customers. Our desire to research and develop new and unexpected spectacles drives us to experiment constantly our creativity with different materials.

THE SOUL OF VUERICH B.
At the very beginning, the brothers, Gianni and Baptiste Vuerich, a qualified cabinetmaker and a talented designer, started the company with a rough idea of what they wanted. After endless hours spent in our studio, we found out a product characterized by its uniqueness. The variation of colors that came out from Skateboard decks give us the idea to create special wooden glasses called the “Board” Collection. A concept never used before in the optical industry. The innovative product has been commercialized in 2011. Since, the production has been diversified. Creativeness and artisanal mindset are still expressed through the following collection. A thorough selection of laminated wood gave birth to the “Ply” Collection. And recently, recycled chips from the fabrication have given rise to the “Copeaux” Collection. The whole operation - design, pattern, prototype and model manufacturing - is made in our Barcelona workshop.

PLY
COLLECTION Each frame is made from our in-house plywood production. We take a careful look at the selection of wood’s layers (FSC label). The «Ply» collection dedicate its design to quality and elegance.
The collection combines three fine wood species, which are Wenge, Bubinga and Grey. Wenge natural color embodies elegance. Its design shows a dark
brown linear pattern. The design of Wenge brings out a natural blazing brown. Our In-house maple grey is fascinating and contains an unique range of shaded grey. These sober tones emerge by using only natural tint.
Moreover, delightful limited edition has been added to the collection. Each model can be wear with optical lenses or solar lenses made by Carl Zeiss.

E.Printz model features a straight line on the top and a soft curve at the bottom. The design is inspired by the work of the Art Deco designer Eugène Printz.

The walnut limited edition is an unexpected discovery. It started from an ordinary visit at one of our wood merchant. An old walnut burl book caught Gianni’s attention, “our in-house cabinet-maker”. The desire to manufacture spectacles that combines an elegant model design and with a mystique motif gave raise to O.Kolping Walnut limited edition. Each spectacle has a particular aspect due to the richness and specificities of each walnut ply motif. The limited number of thirty models is due to the rarity of those old books.

Scott Bourne X Vuerich B Varlope limited edition is a collaboration with the skateboarder, model, photographer, poet and novelist, Scott Bourne. High quality Black Oak outer combined with laser engraved Maple inner featuring selected sentences from Scott’s premier novel, “A Room With No Windows”, 19/80 Editions. Produced in a limited edition of only 100 glasses. Each pair comes with a wooden bookmark featuring the artwork of Jeremy Fish. Special editions collectors book are available as well.

The idea of this fresh collection takes source in our in-house production. “Copeaux” is well representative of Vuerich B. mindset to develop and to create different design. In reality, the word “Copeaux” means chips in French. In fact, leftovers from our own production of “Board” collection has been recycled and transformed into chips. The slivers of wood are sort by color with care and then transformed into a highly colored layer. The outcome of the upcycling is an exciting and innovative collection. Audacious with optical lenses and trendy with solar lenses, the blue and green motif generates a unique design. To sum up, the “Copeaux” collection is worthwhile ecologic spectacles.

BOARD
COLLECTION
The layers composing the recycled boards create endless variations of colors, giving to each one a unique character. We number each board spectacle because they are unique in terms of color and recycled from different decks. We consider each one as a piece of art. For us, is always an excitation to see a new mix of colors coming up. The strength and flexibility of maple wood makes skateboards an ideal material to recycle. The used skateboard decks come from Barcelona skaters. We can make one to four pairs of glasses from each deck depending on the state of the board. Due to our willingness to develop an high quality product, we have developed an innovative adjustable wood hinges. Thanks to this innovation, our spectacle suits every face shape easily. Our handcrafted models can be wear with optical lenses or solar lenses.

Technical data Lenses For the lenses insertion, we use the clipping-lens method, please contact us to have access to the video. Optical and solar lenses are suitable for every frame. Four colors available made by Carl Zeiss : 1 Grey, 2 Gradient Grey, 3 Brown, 4 Gradient Brown. 2 3 4 1 Optical Quality : Cr39 Carl Zeiss Sunlens, Cat3 ,100% Uva/Uvb protection.
Frames The spectacles are sealed with an appropriate ecologic varnish and do not need any particular care. It may be cleaned with a microfiber cloth. Frames are made in wood, a natural and living element. All the frames of the «Ply» and «Copeaux» collection are made from our in-house plywood production. We use flex hinges, confortable nose pads and curved arm at the end for an optimal fit.
Frames of «Board» collection are made from real used skateboard. We use the particular shape of the board to have curved arm. We use special wood hinges with an acetate piece that can be heated to reach an optimal fit.
Because our environment concern us, we use as much as possible recycled and renewable materials to reduce the environmental impact.
