Pre-Employment Welding/Pipeline Assistant – Vulcan Are you interested in a career as a welder, but can’t get your foot in the door? Welders are needed in the fabrication, construction, and maintenance repair industries. This fourteen-week Pre-Employment Welding/Pipeline Assistant program prepares and allows students to write the First Year Welding Apprenticeship theory and practical exams. Countless kilometers of steel pipelines are installed worldwide for the most varied civil and industrial uses; we have added a pipeline assistant component to this program to offer additional job opportunities in this industry. Course Dates: Jan. 7 – Apr. 12, 2013 Prerequisites: English 10-2, Math 10-3 or a pass mark in all five Canadian General Education Development Tests or Entrance Exam Fee: $4,995 plus textbooks ($125) & apprenticeship exam fees ($150 theory, $145 practical) You are responsible for work boots, coveralls, safety glasses, welding gloves and pliers. Training Curriculum: First year Alberta Apprenticeship Welding curriculum will be taught. Theory offered by videoconference; practical held at County Central High School.
