Mixed Use Museum
Pier 45 Oceanic Museum
Pier 45 is an industrial fishing pier. It is out of context and is isolated from the surrounding tourist environment. The master plan of the site will bring tourists and local users together and will revitalize the Fisherman’s Wharf. The Pier 45 Oceanic Museum project will play the role of educator, informer, and connector between the public and ocean life. It will be the main architecture piece that will activate the public square located in front of it. The project will also act as a bridge that connects the Industrial Pier with the Culture Zone Development.

The Franciscan Crab Restaurant
Built in the late 1950's and recently remodeled (2005), the Franciscan restaurant has been a long standing part of San Francisco seafood dining and Fisherman's Wharf's landscape. Countless visitors, both native and from afar, have made the Franciscan restaurant a local tradition in seafood dining on the wharf.
Boudin Bakery & Cafe Boudin Museum
Headquartered in San Francisco, Boudin Bakery is world-famous for The Original San Francisco Sourdough™, which is baked with the same Mother Dough, or sourdough starter, used since 1849. Born in the Gold Rush, Boudin is the oldest continuously operating business in San Francisco.
Chowder Hut Fresh Grill
One of the first claim chowder restaurant of San Francisco, this place serves mainly the original claim chowder one famous dish that people think of when they come to San Francisco. This restaurant is very popular, but the architecture of it could put it anywhere. This strip of restaurants contain all the really old seafood restaurant of the Fisherman’s Wharf. However, they become more touristy and the facilities haven’t reall been renovated.
San Francisco Seafood Restaurants
Pier 45 is the only Fisherman Port of San Francisco. They get fresh fish everyday from all over the world. Fisherman’s Dock distributes seafood for the whole city of San Francisco, Bay Area, and deliver to many other place. The only down side is they don’t sale to retail buyers.
Fisherman’s Dock
The museum take a small area of the South building and the rest is private parking. The museum is really out of place since it doesn’t relate much to the site. These 2 historical buildings have all the best view and location of San Francisco, but they are very under used. Musée Mécanique/ Parking 44

Pier 70 Veterans’ Housing
- Cooporative project with Andi Azry Central Water Front neighborhood of San Francisco is an industrial area that is slowly dying out. Originally, most of the activity here was ship related. Pier 70, in the heart of Central Water Front, was the largest shipyard in the U.S back in World War II. The city wants to renovate the whole area not to waste the land and to provide more living spaces to people. Our goal is to bring the city grid on to the site, and to use a flexible matrix to create a diverse neighborhood.

Los Angeles, CA BUILDING TYPE:
Mixed Use Highrise
Hubs Tower
How can we adapt the complexity, interconnected activities and identity of the LACMA section of Wilshire in order to integrate the building into the neighborhood and help amplify its identity? The vertical campus of the building is a hub-system made up of many different smaller community hubs/spaces at different levels. They serve the purpose of increasing the connections and energy throughout the building, and blending in with the surrounding community.

Highline Columbarium
The architecture piece here is based on a visual interpretation of the process of the movie Basquiat (1996). The transformation of the storyline during the length of the movie is analyzed and broken down into a 3-dimensional piece that later is used to overlay on to an analysis of a specifific part of the Highline in New York City. This whole experimetal study is then used to create a mixed use columbarium that is attached to the Highline itself and adapted to the site.

Architecture Hand Drafting
In today’s world, with all the new technology, architects can produce most of the drawings on the computer. However, hand drawing skills are still essential. They deliver the soul of the architecture to the viewers. Hand drawing tends to provoke much more emotion and story telling. It tells so much of the building without complicating the whole composition.

Architecture Photography
The ability to create space is one thing, the ability to percieve space is another. It is always important to be able to understand space and be able to put people in your perspective to understand that space the way you do. This series of photos is a collection of photos taken during the time I am living in California.
