MOSCOW URBAN FORUM
The Moscow Urban Forum is an annual international conference dedicated to city development, architecture, economics and strategic planning of cities
The Moscow Urban Forum has been held annually since 2011 under the auspices of the Moscow Government
The Forum has established itself as a key international forum for interaction among world-renowned urbanists, city managers and representatives of the business community
At the Forum the opportunities and challenges related to modern megacities are discussed openly, and their development prospects are considered not just in the context of economics and effectiveness of governance, but through the prism of the person – city residents
IV MOSCOWURBAN FORUM “Moscow, the largest megalopolis in Europe, is once again initiating dialogue on topical urban planning issues. Today we have a vibrant and developing city. Moscow is a successful global city, which in recent years has taken second place among the world's developing megalopolises for development dynamics. Only Beijing has managed to surpass it. At the same time, Moscow is the capital of an enormous country and it shares its goals, hopes, and ambitions. The city's key projects, such as development of the Metro, road construction, updating rolling stock, and modernization of health care, are projects implemented at the national level, since hundreds of enterprises and thousands of people from around the country are involved in their implementation. Every single ruble invested in Moscow not only brings profit to the city's businesses, but to Russian businesses in all regions”. Sergei Sobyanin, Mayor of Moscow “In the last few years, Moscow has become completely different. It now resembles an international centre and offers true competition to the world's largest cities based on quality of life it provides”. Igor Shuvalov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation “In the past few years, Moscow has been offering a unified state control system that unites and integrates numerous supervisory inspectorates. This has resulted in the "single window" system. In 2015, we will be launching a pilot project to transfer control and supervisory powers from the federal to the regional level. We will do this in Moscow”.
Mikhail Abyzov, Minister of the Russian Federation for Open Government Affairs
