are unaware of the hidden gems that the coast has in store. The long white stripe of the Costa Blanca South is one of Europe’s most sought after locations, and house prices are set to rise accordingly in the coming months. With a short car journey, revelers can enjoy the quaint traditional fishing villages of old Spain, or immerse themselves into the hustle and bustle of city center living. Alicante itself has plenty to offer besides legendary nightlife, while Denia is an enticing blend of traditional fishing town, beach resort and gastronomic destination. The Orihuela Costa has now secured accreditation for the sheer quality of lush Golf courses and award winning beaches. Holiday makers from afar enjoy the diverse culture of the Orihuela Costa on a yearly basis, yet most people
The team here at Sunworld have decided to share our experiences of the area to our client base. As cliché’ as it may sound, as a buyer you’re not merely purchasing a property but a whole new life style, and we hope this handy guide can persuade you to follow that Spanish dream.
Our band of merry men and women here at Sunworld range from ages 1-65, therefore we know firsthand what Spanish living means to us. Whether you’re looking to retire in the sun, or relocate the family for a healthier lifestyle, the Costa Blanca South has it all.
A region steeped in history, the beautiful Costa Blanca is a real haven for golfers. The lovely climate and lively nightlife coupled with the established flight hub of Alicante/San Javier, makes it perfect for a golf holiday in Spain. As a keen golfer, I’ve been lucky enough to play most of the courses, each one as beautiful as the next. Within 20 km, several award-winning courses are accessible all year long with many cheap discounts and deals. The Costa Blanca golf resorts are excellent, with the 5* La Finca and superb Las Colinas Residences, with Its highly ranked Cabell Robinsondesigned layout. The golf course
extends across the valley between the hills, adapts to the unusual lie of the land and blends naturally into the landscape. The width of its fairways, the design of its extensive undulating greens, and the numerous tees at each hole give it great versatility and mean that it is suitable for professional competitions, while also offering any player a pleasant, enjoyable and affordable game. Here at Sunworld, we’ll be happy to treat you to a round or two (for research purposes), just don’t tell the Mrs! Quite recently, our company ambassador and now good friend Willie Thorne hosted a charity golf match at the beautiful Lo Romero. It was a fantastic day, and we managed to raise a healthy sum for Maria & the Pink Ladies (a local cancer charity). Ex pats from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales battled it out in the glorious sunshine, cementing the community spirit that is apparent throughout the Costa.
Although we don’t like to admit it most of the time, money does make the world go around and it’s important to understand the differentiation of living costs compared to the UK and Spain. Originally brought up in London, I’m occasionally dragged back across the border for the odd wedding or birthday party.

Now, when you’ve been happily drinking pints of lager for 2 euros, it’s often overwhelming to hand over a note and receive very little change. As trivial as this may seem, the price difference does filter across the board from meat and veg to utilities and area costs. Here is a very brief yet powerful example taken from a recent survey outlining the astronomical variance to your bank balance.

Spain, a country for living. The warm air is great for joint pain, arthritis, and healthy skin, and the natural sea breeze works wonders on the lungs. Aside from the magnificent climate, local foods also play a huge part on a family’s wellbeing. The Mediterranean diet is based on a balanced and complete diet following principles such as simple preparation and the use of fresh,
As a family, we researched many areas before moving to Spain. The deciding factor ultimately came down to the Orihuela Costa’s famous salt lakes. As trivial as it may sound, the benefits of living in the area are astonishing. Las Salinas de Torrevieja is one of the most impressive natural parks of Valencia and is located nearby another water reserve known as the Laguna de la Mata.
Las Salinas de Torrevieja spreads across 1,400 hectares and is separated from the Laguna de la Mata by an anticline (a formation of stratified rock raised up) called the Chaparral, but both are connected to the ocean through a canal known as Acequión. This canal was created for the purpose of obtaining salt from the ocean in the 13th century. As a legacy of its past, there are huge mountains of salt piled high along the shore. Being relatively shallow, this salty lake allows everyone to enjoy one of the finest of nature’s free spas. The benefits of salty water are good to expel the toxins from your body and have an exceptional effect on your skin.
The tranquil and calm waters of Las Salinas de Torrevieja can prevent skin and lung diseases besides improving the full condition of your health. Locals who also come to this secret free spa are the perfect people to help you locate the black mud, full of great properties to help improve your skin. Apply the white sand on your body to provide it with a deep exfoliation, and the black mud on your face to moisturize the skin, and leave it on for at least 30 minutes to get the full effect. The therapeutic results will amaze you.
