NEW Chicago Botanic Gardens Day Trip

Spend a relaxing day adventuring through the 385 acres and 26 gardens of the Chicago Botanic Gardens. We start our trip off with a narrated Grand Tram tour showing the entire garden grounds including 81 acres of lakes and 9 garden islands. After that, set out to explore the parts of the garden you want to see most, purchase lunch at the Garden Cafe, and shop at the Garden Gift Shop. The bus will depart from the Recreation Center at 9am and return to the Recreation Center at approximately 4:30pm.

Registration will open Monday, April 5th.

Lambeau Field and Packers Hall of Fame Day Trip

Join the WAWM RCS Department as we take a trip to Title Town. The group will take a 2 hour guided tour in which you will walk through the players tunnel to field level, visit the Lee Remmel Press Box, view the Visitor’s Locker Room, and more. Following this guided tour, we will eat lunch provided by the Packers before taking a walk through history in the Packer’s Hall of Fame tour. Make sure to bring comfortable shoes as this trip will require a lot of walking. The bus will depart from the Recreation Center at 8:30am and return to the Recreation Center at approximately 5pm.

Wisconsin Park and Recreation Association (WPRA) Silver Star Awards

The WPRA Silver Star Award is recognition given to outstanding programs, events, or marketing efforts in the areas of recreation or aquatics. Winners of the WPRA Silver Star Awards are selected each year by a distinguished panel of recreation professionals who have expertise in the field of recreation service delivery. Entries are judged based on five criteria that are essential to having a successful recreation program: goals and objectives, participation, operational efficiency, creativity and innovation, and marketing.
