TOOLS FOR SUCCESS VDC

QUALITY ASSURANCE

Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) is a process that produces a digital representation of a building’s physical and functional characteristics, was well as the surrounding underground utilities. Walbridge Technologies LLC, a subsidiary of Walbridge, uses VDC to deliver exacting design criteria, point out potential clashes and help eliminate conflicts, while saving time and money.

Walbridge was the first construction company to become ISO certified and is currently ISO 9001:2008 certified. Every job site team implements a master project plan that builds in quality during each step of the project to ensure work complies with the contract documents. Walbridge’s effective Quality Control Plan eliminates the waste of defect and rework by identifying and correcting deficiencies early upstream in the construction process.

VA/VE & LESSONS LEARNED

LEAN CONSTRUCTION

By applying value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE) to construction projects, we can help owners realize substantial savings. In addition to the VA/VE Knowledge Base, Walbridge has established a Lessons Learned Knowledge Base which captures cost-savings ideas and tough lessons learned from both field operations and administrative management activities.

Walbridge is a Lean construction leader and innovator. More than a list of tools, our Lean Construction program is about understanding methods, applications and benefits to provide the right tools for the right job, applying Lessons Learned and reviewing our processes to increase productivity and reduce waste.

VSTART & VPUNCH

SUSTAINABILITY

Our proprietary VStart system manages the extraction, shipping, installation, start-up, testing, final acceptance and check out requirements for equipment. VPunch is a disciplined approach to plan, implement and visually manage the punch list process.

Walbridge is dedicated to providing environmental stewardship to the communities and ecosystems in which we build. In 2010, we became the first contractor in the United States to complete an airport terminal designed under the LEED® green building certification program.

WATER UTILITY

EXPERTISE

Water is fundamental—we depend on it for our health and well-being as well as that of our vital ecosystems, industrial processes and our economy. Since 1916, Walbridge has employed advanced technologies and proven means and methods to successfully deliver a full spectrum of water and wastewater treatment facilities. We have delivered projects, of varying sizes and complexities, with the same goals—quality workmanship, cost-effective solutions, on-time delivery and strategies scalable for future growth. In recent years, public- and private-sector projects have become more complex due to additional regulatory requirements, increasing costs and aging infrastructures. Because of our understanding, we have the privilege of partnering with clients across the nation, working collaboratively to better meet the needs of their communities by streamlining inefficiencies and improving overall operating processes. Our project development capabilities assist Owners with design-build, operations and maintenance expertise.
