Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition June 2, 2018 – January 6, 2019 Baylor University’s Mayborn Museum
In the early hours of April 15, 1912, a vessel weighing more than 52,000 tons called the RMS Titanic collided with an iceberg on its maiden voyage from Southampton to New York City. Carrying an estimated 2,224 passengers, a mere 706 survived. Now, nearly 106 years later, experience one of the most tragic yet inspiring moments in modern history. Starting June 2, 2018, Baylor University’s Mayborn Museum will host its first blockbuster exhibit in Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition. Upon entrance to the exhibit return to 1912, as you receive a replica boarding pass of an actual passenger aboard Titanic. You’ll begin a chronological journey through the life of Titanic, moving through the Ship’s construction, life on board, the ill-fated sinking, and amazing artifact rescue efforts. You will marvel at the re-created interior of the Ship, and press your palms against an iceberg while learning of countless stories of heroism and humanity.
