From Wreck Site to Exhibition: My Creative Journey September 13, 2018 at 2:00pm Mayborn Museum

If you’ve ever wondered what goes into creating a museum exhibition, now is your chance to find out when Mark Lach, the designer of Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition presents “From Wreck Site to Exhibition: My Creative Journey” at the Mayborn. Lach, who has been to the wreck site, will discuss his perspective of the wreck site and his creative thoughts on how he brings alive passenger stories and artifacts inside each exhibition location. Admittance to the presentation is included with general admission. Museum members and Baylor University students receive free general admission. General admission does not include admission to Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition. See our website for detailed admission information.

Cattleya Foundation of Hope Annual “A Celebration of Life” dinner and fundraising event Saturday, August 18, 2018 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Lee Lockwood Library and Museum Admission is $25

This annual event now celebrates the lives of many McLennan County cancer survivors on their journey, honoring both them and their families. It’s a relaxing evening away, and an opportunity to enjoy a wonderful catered meal, fellowship and door prizes. This year’s theme is “Planting Seeds of Hope” and the keynote speaker will be Rev. Joe N. Bedford, Pastor of Living Hope Baptist Church in Waco, TX. The Cattleya Foundation of Hope’s Mission Statement says, in part, “We celebrate those who have survived and continue life after cancer; Those who survived become an inspiration for those who have been recently diagnosed; We celebrate to be a gathering of support for families, and become an outreach to the community.” For more details and tickets purchases, please call (254) 640-2118.
