Central Texas Literacy Coalition

The Central Texas Literacy Coalition will meet Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at the Friends for Life Building, 5000 Lakewood, Waco 76710 for its quarterly meeting. Inez Russell, Executive Director of Friends for Life will be the presenter, followed by a tour of the Friends for Life facility. The public is invited to attend. NEWCOMERS & NEIGHBORS CLUB OF WACO Attention all ladies in the Central Texas area. Come join us for April lunch meeting at 11:30 am on April 20th at Ridgewood Country Club at 7301 Fish Pond Road.

The cost for lunch is $25 payable at the door. Our guest speaker will be Bradley Turner. He is a 7th generation Wacoan and avid historian who is an Associate Professor at McLennan Community College. He has published several books and will be giving us a review of his book, Cotton Bales, Goatmen, and Witches: Legends From The Heart of Texas. He will entertain us with humor, history, legends and ghost stories.

Spring Miniature Garden Workshop Thursday, April 11, 2019 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm Mayborn Museum

We are kicking off spring with a workshop our adult audiences will dig! Learn the art of designing miniature container gardens and leave with a creation of your own. Seating is limited to first 25 participants. Workshop fee is $15 for non-members and $10* for museum members. Museum admission is not included. This workshop is limited to those 18 and older.
