Breakfast smoothie Ingredients 1 Tblsp of waihi bush flax seed oil per person A handful of your favourite fruits (5+ a day) Add a generous helping of natural or fruit yoghurt A splash of Milk (for strong bones) waihi bush Flax fibre can also be added for a great way to thicken your smoothie. Start with a half of a tea spoon and keep adding until you have your preferred consistency.
Method Put all in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Mixing Flax seed oil with a milk protein (e.g. in a smoothie) makes the oil water soluble so it bypasses the normal fat digestion system, meaning that it is absorbed straight into your blood stream and into your cell walls. For many people this means a lift in energy and metabolic rate due to the increased oxygen levels in their cells.
