When It Comes To Your Market Area...
Be Specific.
To get referrals, we need to know what market area you are in! And use the area name that an out of town buyer would use.
Don't Be too Broad
If your business card says that you serve South Florida, or the state of Oklahoma, that is too broad. Choose your niche and areas that you specialize in. You will be more likely to get referrals and be seen as an expert in your area.
Honestly, if you give me a postcard or a business card and that says you work in 17 different markets I probably wouldn't refer you because if I'm referring one of my very very special clients and I want to make sure that I'm referring them to a specialist that can help them exactly in the marketplace that they are looking for. I can understand working three or four but if you put a ton, it just makes it a little bit unbelievable.
QR Codes
Now let's talk about how to use the QR codes that people can scan and add your contact right into their phone.
In your phone, create a contact for yourself so that you can share that contact with others via text or airdrop.
Include your name AND market area so that someone can search in their phone and find it. For Example My Contact says "Tom Tezak Maui" so that if someone doesn't remember my name, but they are looking for Maui, they can search Maui in their phone and I will pop up. Also be sure to fill out other important information in your contact like mailing address, email, and of course, phone number. Use a QR code code generator website to create a "vCard" a virtual card that will download right into their phone.
