The Society for Thoracic Surgeons (STS) has developed a comprehensive rating system for the quality of cardiac surgery among hospitals across the country. In the period covering July 2011 to June 2012, Valley’s cardiac surgery program’s performance was in the highest quality tier, receiving an STS 3-star rating.
Valley has been recognized for quality and patient safety by The Leapfrog Group as one of its top hospitals for the fifth time. In 2012, only 89 hospitals in the country were able to reach this gold standard for patient safety and quality.
Valley has received Excellence Awards from HealthGrades in Cardiac Care, Cardiac Surgery, Coronary Intervention, Gastrointestinal Care, and General Surgery.
Valley has earned an impressive 11 Gold Seals of Approval for healthcare quality from The Joint Commission, placing it among a prestigious group of hospitals to achieve this number of Disease-Specific Certifications.
Valley has received the Distinguished Hospital Award for Service Excellence from J.D. Power and Associates for providing “An Outstanding Inpatient Experience” and “An Outstanding Emergency Department Experience.”
Valley is a two-time recipient of the prestigious Magnet Designation for Nursing Excellence from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
