As part of Holy Name Foundation’s longstanding commitment to Haiti, 110 Holy Name senior leaders and managers participated in a food packathon. 3–4 During the event, more than 43,000 nutritious meals were packaged and shipped to Holy Name Medical Center’s sister hospital, Hôpital Sacré Coeur.

THE COMMUNITY CHEST

THE VALLEY HOSPITAL AUXILIARY

The Valley Hospital Auxiliary presented a $200,000 donation to the hospital during its 1 June luncheon at the Indian Trail Club in Franklin Lakes. PHILIPPINE INDEPENDENCE DAY

The Bergen County Executive’s Office celebrated Philippine Independence Day this year by honoring the county’s FilipinoAmerican leaders. The event at One Bergen County Plaza included a flag-raising ceremony and keynote speech by Philippine Consul General Elmer G. Cato. 8 Filipino-American leaders gather for the flag-raising.

Local officials celebrated the grand opening of The District, the luxury multifamily residential component of its mixed-use North Market neighborhood in Montvale. AMERICAN SOCIETY OF INTERIOR DESIGNERS

The New Jersey Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) held its annual Design Excellence Awards at the Galloping Hills Golf Course in Kenilworth. NORTHERN NEW JERSEY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION

The Northern New Jersey Community Foundation’s (NNJCF) The DeAnna Stark Pasciuto Memorial Fund continued its support of organizations providing services to help children dealing with the loss of a loved one from cancer. BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS

The first-ever Big Brothers Big Sisters of Coastal & Northern New Jersey (BBBSCNNJ) Cornhole Tournament took place in Asbury Park to support the organization’s mission. BBBSCNNJ represents 10 counties, including Bergen, and empowers children to achieve their highest potential as they grow to become confident, competent and caring individuals. 12 The team from Colliers Engineering raised the most money for the cause. 13 First-place winners from Dynamic One won a $500 cash prize.
