Whether it’s at a fundraiser or a volunteering event, Monmouth residents always show up to support their friends and neighbors.
HOLMDEL FOUNDATION FOR EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE
Nearly 500 walkers and runners participated in the Holmdel Foundation For Educational Excellence’s (HFEE) Annual 5K earlier this summer. The event raised $22,000, which will go toward two new science labs at Village School in Holmdel as well as funding for $34,000 worth of mini grants. 3 Young runners prepare to take off from the 7starting line. 4 Holmdel education supporters line up for a photo before the race.

FULFILL
The Fahey family recently donated $5,000 to Fulfill, a community food bank in Neptune. Funds were raised during the annual Fahey Restaurant Group Golf Outing, organized to help provide food and services to neighbors in need. Fulfill’s mission is to alleviate hunger and build food security in Monmouth and Ocean counties. 1 Members of the Fahey family present their donation to the Fulfill food bank.
GIRL SCOUT TROOP 63
Girl Scout Troop 63 earned their Bronze Award by participating in the Mattel PlayBack program, which recycles old Barbie dolls and toys so they do not end up in landfills. The Max Challenge of Ocean, owned by Pamela Miller, supported the cause by hosting a free fitness class for the girls and their families. Miller also raffled off a free 10-week challenge to anyone who brought in Barbies to donate. The girls collected 110 Barbies that day! 2 Members of Troop 63 show off the dolls collected during their challenge.

MONMOUTH MUSEUM
Allentown High School students Brendan and Aidan Chen recently worked with 5Help to collect and donate books to the Monmouth Museum. Their contributions will help inspire future generations in the STEAM disciplines. The museum continues to collect donations of STEAM children’s books for its media lab. Donations can be brought to the front desk Wednesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 5 Brendan and Aidan Chen

RUMSON GARDEN CLUB
During its 2022 Annual Meeting at the Rumson Country Club Riverhouse, Rumson Garden Club awarded the Catherine B. Gonska Memorial Scholarship to Trinity Hall student Annaliese K. Heidelberger. The $2,500 scholarship is presented annually to a local high school student who plans to attend an accredited college and has demonstrated an interest in the area of horticulture, environmental studies, conservation, marine science or earth science. 6 Susan Olson, Annaliese K. MONMOUTH COUNTY SPCA
Georgie’s Bar in Asbury Park hosted the MCSPCA Loveafoster event this summer, raising more than $4,000 for the Monmouth County SPCA. Funds were raised through basket raffles and puppy kissing booths, and all performers donated all their tips to support the fundraiser. 7 Georgie’s and MCSPCA staff members are all smiles during their fundraiser.
