Essex County Newark Tech High School

Essex County officials joined students and staff for the official grand reopening and ribbon cutting for the Essex County Newark Tech High School. Newark Tech is the third building in the county’s Schools of Technology District to undergo renovations. During the ceremony, officials announced the naming of the Governor Phil Murphy Innovation Center. 2–3 Students, staff and dignitaries gather for the ceremonial ribbon cutting.

Morris Habitat Restore

Thanks to the help of community volunteers, Habitat for Humanity’s Morris ReStore in Randolph is able to open on Mondays (except for holidays). 6 Volunteers from Columbia Bank help staff Morris ReStore.

Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center

The Center for Asian Health and Wellness organized a Lunar New Year Celebration for the employees at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center. Staff was treated to a special presentation commemorating the Year of the Rabbit. 7 Lunar New Year celebration at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center

Winter Clothing Drive

More than 80 children and adults received donations from this year’s winter clothing drive at Newark Symphony Hall. Clothing donations were collected and distributed to residents in need as well as to the Miller Street Shelter and Newark Emergency Services 8 Talia Young, Warren Thompson, Rob Shorter, Chris Sabin

“Post the peak of the cherry blossoms in early May, I wanted to go for a long walk at Branch Brook Park before I left the following week on a European vacation. The reflection in the water caught my eye and inspired this photo. I don’t know who that guy is that’s fishing in the photo, but he was cool with me taking the shot. I wanted to share it so others can see the beauty that exists in Newark.”
