It is our great pleasure to be able to welcome you to the 52nd Wairarapa Bride of the Year. This event is a chance for us to celebrate the wedding industry of Wairarapa, to highlight the awesome providers and businesses that make the weddings happen, celebrate our beautiful brides, and of course raise funds for Wairarapa Plunket. This year, the funds will contribute towards maintaining the local o ces and providing toys for the children for whom Plunket plays such a signi cant role in the development of their and their whanau’s health and wellbeing during those crucial early Manyyears.ofour committee members have been lucky enough to have been supported by Plunket in our own childhoods, and now with children of our own. It’s a privilege to bring you this event to give back to Wairarapa Plunket.

This year, Wairarapa Bride of the Year is open to brides who were married between 1 July 2021 and 30 June 2022; who were married in Wairarapa, and/or have lived or are living in Wairarapa, and/or whose spouse has lived in the Wairarapa.
To all our providers, thank you for your ongoing support for this fantastic event. To our brides, we hope you really enjoy reliving your big day.
After a brilliant event in 2021, we look forward to returning to the Carterton Events Centre, which will allow up to 320 people to attend.
The event this year has been organised by a committee of volunteers with strong local ties, including ve previous Bride of the Year entrants. Renée, Ellie, Stacey, Mel, MJ, Shelley, Wendy, and Eve are thrilled to be able to put together this event. Our judges this year are Marianne Hercock, Trish Thomson, Paul Edgar Bird and Sophie Stevens. The judging panel consider the following criteria: rst impression, sense of con dence, posture and stance, connection to the audience, dress, and overall look. We also have two community awards: audience choice, and brides’ choice award.
