Many wonderful women have ruled and lead throughout the ages from Cleopatra, Joan of Arc and Queen Elizabeth as well as worshiped goddesses such as Aphrodite and Isis. Woman can do so many things with the advantages of feminine intuition, kindness, and compassion. We embrace a unity where we are all seen as equal and bring together all our individual attributes. Empowering powerful women is a part of who we are and who we choose to be.

We are excited to introduce Belinda to our team. She compliments us with her marketing and graphic design background as well as her timely and e cient nature.

As Tess takes a well-deserved break to breathe new life into this world, as only a woman can, Belinda takes up her roll and as Tess returns, we look forward to working together again as a strong team. Aliah continues to lead and think up extraordinary ideas with her wild imagination and attention to detail. Something that has helped the team achieve many successful sales through a tough and changing market.

Those that have worked with us know the extra miles we are willing to go to make your real estate journey a personable, positive experience. We respect your decision is your own, but what if you were to go with those that think, feel, and see big? A dynamic unmatched when you employ us for our services. Well, it's a no brainer of course.

Ancient art of upholstery alive and well in Edith Street

Re-upholstering people’s treasured furniture, and giving them a new lease on life, is what makes Kath Wilkie very happy these days. “I sort of get between people’s treasures and the dump,” she laughs. When this former Physical Education and Outdoor Education teacher suffered injury resulting in a hip replacement, it encouraged her to reassess her life and question what type of work she’d like to do next.

Forever the creative – visiting her garden, you’ll get the idea – she began mending and fixing up pieces of furniture. Her mother, Judy Jeffrey, is a qualified tailor and the pair have been teaching upholstery classes for the past 20 years, initially at Makoura and Wairarapa colleges and now at REAP in Masterton. There’s a variety of lessons from beginners (Wednesday evenings) to advanced (weekends). The classes attract all types of people and ages, and it suits Kath beautifully, merging her teaching experience with her creative side. Kath will be known to many past students at Wairarapa College where she taught Outdoor Education and PE for 11 years. She also taught outdoor education in Auckland. A special Ministry of Education contract teaching in Rarotonga was going well, until she had her accident, which resulted in her life change. Kath’s latest project has been a chaise lounge for a farming family in Wairarapa who discovered the dilapidated piece in an old farmhouse. It belonged to their ancestors. Stuffed with horsehair and hay, it still had faded kauri trim, stained to look like mahogany. Slowly re-building to its former glory, Kath gets help from the talented volunteers at the Masterton Men’s Shed. “They are my godsend.” For this project, they have turned new legs out of macrocarpa and cleaned up the kauri.

“People can’t believe what we can do – resurrecting what looks beyond repair –and then it becomes a much-treasured piece with a family story.”
