The Roaring 40s

The Roaring 40s are a team of five aerobatic pilots from New Zealand Warbirds. Based at Ardmore, the team has been in existence for over 30 years, performing crowd-pleasing precision aerobatics. The team this season is: Rob Silich, Dean Beverley, Dave Brown, Liz Needham & John Kelly. The Harvard is well known at Hood Aerodrome – we all can recognise the distinctive sound of the Harvard’s fast moving propeller tips! The aircraft was designed for the USAAF as an advanced trainer - the AT-6 - then the British ordered it in large numbers and named it the Harvard.
