A catch-up with Prue Over my 32 years in real estate I have experienced many market changes and have learnt how to deal with change and opportunity. So, when the Alert Levels changed from 2, 3 then 4, back in March, I realised that transactions in real estate were not going to be the same. I needed to move to digital and virtual means of communication … FAST. Buyers were still wanting to buy so Zoom became the norm, properties had 3D virtual tours and as much information as possible had to be showcased through online platforms. The news of moving to Level 3 was well welcomed and with restrictions in place buyers can now view properties and appraisals, with a sales consultant viewing the property, are able to happen. Moving forward to Level 2 then Level 1 I see the real estate market will return to higher levels of interest to begin with and then move to a more balanced market with the assistance of low interest rates, the drop of the LVR and the attraction of the Wairarapa as a preferred place to live, a balanced market will keep values stable. Isn’t it great to live where we live – a provincial area free of Covid-19 for over one month! A Community where people do care about one another, I make special mention to all those who volunteered to assist essential services and indeed essential workers in this time. How proud did it feel to stand at the gate on Sunday 29th March at 7pm and clap in appreciation of those workers. Then again on ANZAC Day to be at the gate at 6 am and participate with neighbours honouring our service men and women. This is what our community is about. Life is about putting a hand up not out. Let’s continue to stay safe and if anyone requires assistance in collection or drop offs please let me know.
