About our project In partnership with Manchester Refugee Support Network (MRSN) and Bangladeshi Women’s Association, we will provide a holistic intervention programme, tailored to specific clients’ needs of BME communities and others, such as these: suffering from domestic violence, facing eviction, debt advice, welfare advice, pre-ESOL, low literacy or numeracy, seeking employment, or suffering from long term illness or disability. We will work with clients with long term illnesses or disabilities, young people, older people, migrant workers, asylum seekers and refugees, people with accommodation issues (including those in temporary accommodation, homeless or those risking eviction), single parents, carers, victims of violence (including race hate crime and domestic violence), NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) individuals, large families subject to a benefit cap, citizens that have gone through the care system, citizens in financial distress (those accessing the Welfare Provision Scheme or reverting to illegal money lending or payday loans), and isolated and vulnerable individuals. We offer services in the following areas:
Assessment Assess the needs of client and provide in depth support with our partners Individual Action Plan Tailor made services for individual to support their needs e.g. Mental Health support, Older People’s services, Elderly carer’s services, Wellbeing services, Macmillan Cancer Support Classes Include: ESOL courses (Pre-Entry to Level 3), ICT courses, Employability courses, Work Experience provision, Financial courses Advice sessions Services provided would include: Housing advice, Welfare advice (including Council Tax, Pension Credit and Understanding Welfare Reform), Legal advice, Debt advice Intervention Work include: Domestic Abuse, Child Safe guiding, family relation break down

How to make a referral To make a referral to our service, please visit http://www.waiyin.org.uk/bom and download our Referral form. Complete this form either electronically or by hand and email it to advice_referrals@waiyin.org.uk or fax it to 0161 839 3335. You should receive a response within 24 hours of your referral with an appointment for our qualified social worker to conduct an assessment of the user’s needs. We are able to accept direct referrals from Troubled Families Unit, Early Years Services, Health & Social Care Services and Probation Services.
