WELCOME TO THE DEACON CLUB Since I began my first day serving as a Deacon Club Board member, my one and only priority has been to help make Wake Forest a better place. I want us to become the premier athletic department in the country – from the education of our studentathletes to their athletic training, strength and conditioning, nutrition and the facilities in which they train and compete. This is why I continuously ask how I can do more and how I can encourage others to do more. Through the Deacon Club, we as alumni, parents and fans can change the lives of student-athletes and position our coaches and student-athletes for success in competition. Your commitment to the Deacon Club and your willingness to help us recruit others can truly transform our programs and create the nation’s premier athletic department. I look forward to a great year – Go Deacs!

DEVELOPING CHAMPIONS The Deacon Club is the fundraising unit for Wake Forest Athletics. In an effort to support the Athletic Department’s vision of Developing Champions, we are driven by three primary objectives:
1. To provide scholarships for academically deserving student-athletes. 2. To equip our student-athletes with first-class facilities. 3. To develop programs to further engage members with Wake Forest Athletics.

“I WOULDN’T HAVE BEEN ABLE TO EARN MY DEGREE WITHOUT AN ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIP. MY CAREER HAS TAKEN ME PLACES I NEVER COULD HAVE IMAGINED, BUT THE VISION FOR WHAT I COULD ACCOMPLISH STARTED AT WAKE FOREST UNIVERSITY.” LACHINA ROBINSON (‘02), WOMEN’S BASKETBALL, BASKETBALL TV ANALYST

PROGRESS 6
ANNUAL FUND Through the Deacon Club Annual Fund, alumni, parents and fans have the opportunity to impact the trajectory of Wake Forest Athletics and the lives of our studentathletes. As the Deacon Club provides more funding for studentathlete scholarships, the Athletic Department is able to invest in facilities and recruiting at a higher level. Contributions to the Deacon Club, therefore, not only fund the education of student-athletes but also provide coaches with the resources necessary to attract and develop the best student-athletes in the country.
HOW YOUR DONATION TRANSFORMS WAKE FOREST ATHLETICS As contributions to scholarships increase through the Annual Fund initiative, the Athletic Department is able to invest more of the operating budget into program enhancements such as sports medicine, facilities and recruiting.

110% CAMPAIGN The Deacon Club encourages existing members to pledge 110% of their previous year’s donation in honor of student-athletes who continually give 110% to our school. Over the past seven years, the 110% campaign has brought in more than $3.3 million in incremental funds to be used toward rising scholarship costs.
“WITH THE 110% CAMPAIGN, I HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE A BIGGER IMPACT ON STUDENT-ATHLETES. MORE FUNDS RAISED GIVES WAKE FOREST THE ABILITY TO COMPETE AT A HIGHER LEVEL.” ALLEN HOBBS (‘02)
“DURING MY TIME AT WAKE FOREST, I ALWAYS GAVE 110% IN COMPETITION AND IN THE CLASSROOM. NOW THAT I CAN GIVE BACK TO HELP FUTURE GENERATIONS OF DEMON DEACONS, I STILL GIVE 110% BECAUSE THAT’S WHAT’S GOING TO MAKE THE BIGGEST IMPACT.” TODD LYNCH (‘98), MEN’S GOLF
