Matt Manzari CLERMONT, FL
The water level in Clermont and Orlando has been fluctuating over the years. Unless there has been a recent storm in the area, the water level is down for the most part. Low water = high docks. I took advantage of perspective from above while Manzari rode by on Lake Winona. 7
Raimi Merritt ST. JOHNS RIVER, FL
Love it or hate it, the “Raley” is an important part of wakeboarding history, yet no one likes to publish photos of it. Why is that? Hands down, there is no other trick in the sport as well-known as that one. It’s the easiest and hardest trick to do, all rolled into one. Land it correctly, you’re fine. Crash, well… you’re hurting. That being said, Raimi Merritt knows how to make one look good and she probably goes twice as big as you, too.

Anytime I shoot with Chad from this “sitting-duck” angle, I always get the strange feeling I need a helmet and a mouthpiece. 12

Crash pics are fun to look at no matter who you are. This one, in particular, caught my eye and is one of my favorites among all crash photos. As Nic flipped end over end, his body, handle and skate all touched the surface of the water at almost the exact same time. Weird. Weird = cool.

Shawn Watson & Friends BLACKWATER, ABU DHABI, UAE
Although it’s a long way from home, Abu Dhabi and Dubai are some of the greatest places in the world to visit. It’s an unforgettable cultural experience you’ll remember for the rest of your life. The communication barrier, to say the least, enhances the “foreigner” feeling. But with wakeboarding, we were all speaking the same language. (Hey look, another Raley photo… That’s right twice in one issue!)
