LAKE WHIPPOORWILL, FL MARCH 2010 CAMERA: NIKON D3 LENS: NIKKOR 300MM ANGLE: CHASE BOAT
This was a morning of great images with Shaun Murray. Multiple mornings in fact. The very first pass down the lake got us the March 2010 cover of TransWorld
Wakeboarding as well as 2010 “Photo Of The Year” honors, but there were still others from those shoots deserving to be shown.

Broken Glass LAKE WHIPPOORWILL, FL
A common site in Murray’s backyard, it’s no wonder this lake has been used in multiple cover shoots and video parts like Hyperlite’s ReWritten. Shaun built a giant platform to place the camera boom where they shot all the “moving” and “panning” effects in the movie. It’s a must see in the wakeboard VIDEO
video world. Put it on your list. 7

Lake Shawnigan Ghost BC, CANADA
This photo has been one of my all time favorites. I was waiting for a rider to pass by while I stood on the roof-top of a Lake Shawnigan dock. I saw some patterns reflecting off the water as I looked directly down. Since then, I continue to look for the interesting patterns and shapes but realized it only works with the right cloud conditions and movement in the water. Initially photo-labeled as “Trippy Water” in my archives, I think “Lake Shawnigan Ghost” is more appropriate. Maybe they’re both good.

An oldie but a goodie.

Nick Taylor CURACAO, NETHERLANDS ANTILLES
Confined to an all-inclusive resort, the Nike 6.0 team went for a swim while wakeskater Nick Taylor rode by overhead. While Nick did the four-finger layback on the surface, Lafferty, Manzari and Pastura floated below like astronauts. See how it was done and watch the video here.

JD Webb BOCA CHICA KEY, FL
JD “Big Back” Webb is one of those riders always on point. He’s eager to ride, has tons of energy and never has a bad attitude. There’s plenty of good reasons why he’s a favorite to shoot with. 16
Brian Grubb LAKE JESSAMINE, FL
Not your average flat bar, this slippery PVC requires a bit more balance and skill. It didn’t take long for Grubb to figure it out…like riding a bike.
