ON THE COVER

KYLE CAMERON

By Keith Lidberg

Wakeboarding over the past decade has always been somewhat of a luxury sport. Only those who had access to a boat and a lake were known to enjoy this fast-growing summer pasttime. The majority of the talent in professional wakeboarding were children of this privelage, attainable by the minority. Well things are changing quickly and guys like Kyle Cameron are getting a voice. Today we are starting to see a new group of wakeboarders hitting the scene, the majority of who have barely, if ever, been behind a boat. I’m talking about wake parks and all of the new riders they are bringing to the sport. One of these young rising talents is none other than Kyle Cameron. The soft-spoken rider, hailing from the great state of Texas, has been quietly making his mark on the wake park

scene. Believe it or not, nose presses like this are pretty commonplace for Kyle, even on one of the hardest obstacles I have ever had a chance to sesh. The best part about park riding is that Kyle isn’t limited to being a one-dimensional rider like most “pro” riders. This guy, like most park riders, has a great attitude and rides for the only reason you should ride: It’s fun, and it’s obvious when he is on the water! That being said, if you ever get a chance to follow Kyle at a park I recommend playing a bit of shadow, as every wakeboarder

If you’re a grom trying to make a name for yourself in this sport, follow the wake of veteran riders like Benny G. Create your own identity on a board, respect the riders paving the way before you and keep your feet securely grounded so your head can’t reach the clouds. In no particular order, keep that in mind you’ll be a step above the rest and headed toward the right direction.
