ON THE COVER

OLI DEROME

By Kevin Michael Complete - Having all the necessary or appropriate parts. That is how the word complete is defined. As a wakeboarder, it seems pretty easy to accomplish, but it takes some riders decades to get respect as a complete rider, if they ever get it at all. This month’s cover subject, Olivier Derome, has made this his ultimate goal from day one. “My whole life has been about being as complete as I can in whatever I do.” Whether it’s his reputation as a sick rail rider, winch spot guru, video star or top ten status on the King Of Wake tour, “Oli” may finally be in the spot he always wanted to be. But it’s not easy living. “I’m not gonna lie, it’s hectic. Today, I woke up at 6 a.m., worked out, rode for our Slingshot team video, Lipsmack, headed to Soven’s to film with MTV, planned some travel and now I have to go get my run dialed for Wake Games. But I wouldn’t have it any other way.” Behind the scenes, he’s a sponsor’s dream, always keeping them updated
