Using technology for sustainable development

Using technology for sustainable development In contrast to a traditional coal-fired power plant, the completion of a wind or solar power plant takes 12-18 months; however, the construction speed of the transmission lines has not yet improved. Regardless of how many renewable energy (RE) power plants we build, industry will not be able to power these clean power plants due to the lack of adequate evacuation infrastructure. Overcoming the time constraints in the broadcasting industry is vital. Using arial technology to handle some of the tedious tasks associated with transmission projects is a great way to go. Today we are going to focus on one of these technological advances: the helicopter; and how it can be of great help to the broadcasting industry. Sustainable infrastructure development with helicranes: First used as overhead traveling cranes in the 1950s, Bell 47 helicranes were the first to be used for this purpose. This technology proved to be a savior during the Vietnam Wars as its use for industrial purposes increased. In the wood industry for lifting large trees, its use in the transmission industry can be helpful. 

Building transmission towers in treacherous terrain can be a challenge. Due to remote regions and inaccessible roads, moving tons of building materials (including towers) from one point to another becomes extremely difficult. The logistical use of this technology can not only make the task easier, but also save time. The way to the location of the high-voltage line often leads through areas that are rich in biodiversity. The means of transport for moving the load have high potential for damaging the soil structure of the region. With overhead cranes, we avoid damage to the floor structure, as tons of building material are transported by air; therefore, maintaining the biodiversity of the region. In regions with unpredictable climatic conditions (especially deserts or mountains) the working window is shortened to a few months. This leads to an extension of the overall timetable for the transmission project. The use of this flight technique accelerates the construction process. The use of propellers in the construction of transmission infrastructures clearly benefits the industry with reduced schedules and simple solutions to complex design challenges.

With this technology, the industry can work to build a renewable energy evacuation infrastructure in line with renewable energy power plants.
