Jayman BUILT goes Net Zero

Jay Westman, Chairman and CEO at Jayman BUILT Jayman BUILT, one of Alberta’s leading homebuilders, is taking its Net Zero homes to the next level as they add two more energy efficient housing options to the already robust energysaving capabilities of their homes.

With two previously announced energy efficient housing options, Jayman now offers four steps on the Path to Net Zero Certification; Jayman’s Core Performance (standard on homes without exception), Solar Energized Hybrid Performance, Net Zero Ready Peak Performance, and the Net Zero Certified home, known as The Quantum Performance Ultra E-Home, which was introduced in 2021. These options offer Alberta home buyers the ultimate in choice, and alternatives in affordability for their investment in net zero living.

“We are proud to continue leading the way in energy-efficient home building in Alberta,” says Jay Westman, Chairman and CEO. “By offering four options on the path to Net Zero certified homes, we are taking positive steps towards a sustainable future. The renewable energy transition is growing at a steady pace in Alberta, and at Jayman, we have already exceeded the 2050 net zero building code targets that the federal government has outlined for Canada.”

Homes by Avi marks 24th year of student program

Homes by Avi celebrated over two decades of partnership with Jack James High School with the opening of the latest home that students from the school’s homebuilding training program helped construct.

Avi Amir, Founder and Chairman of Homes by Avi, was on hand for the ribbon cutting ceremonies at the Alexander spec home in the southeast community of Walden. It marks the 24th year of the homebuilding partnership between Homes by Avi and the Jack James HS aimed at introducing students to the skilled trades through a handson approach.

“I have participated in this exciting event every year, with the exception of the last two years due to the pandemic. I would like to thank you for choosing a learning path in which you are interested and talented in.” Amir says.

Jack James HS is one of the Calgary Board of Education’s Knowledge and Employability Learning schools. Students work with their teacher alongside Homes by Avi staff to build a new house and develop an understanding of the home building industry and explore career.

“It is an invaluable program that seeks to introduce young minds to the trades,” Homes by Avi CEO, Charron Ungar tells Inside Calgary. “We have some graduates of the program work in our company.” For more information, go to homesbyavi.com.
