WHAT’S HAPPENING With August comes the fleeting days of summer. The good news? There are countless ways to make the most of this warm and sunny month (see: amazing events listed below!), including a favourite seasonal destination - the Edmonton Corn Maze. In addition to the always fun maze adventure and on-site farm market, one of the highlight activities here is the chance to wander through the beautiful sunflower fields. Blooming from midAugust to mid-September, you won’t want to miss your chance to see these cheery flowers up close and basking in the sunshine. The return of this music festival to Gallagher Hill is sure to bring happy crowds – and deliver forever memories. On from August 4-7, the festival will showcase several stages and a fantastic line-up of bands from across the globe. Plus, it’s an all-ages event. From Aug 11-21, North America’s biggest and oldest fringe festival is back for its 41st year! Taking over Old Strathcona, this festival is set to host over 1,500 local, national, and international artists, and more than 1,200 indoor performances within unique spaces like the Walterdale Playhouse. On Aug 13-14, Villeneuve Airport is set to celebrate and honour Alberta’s place in the logistics and transportation industries.
