Wallace Bishop learnt his trade in Birmingham in the 19th Century and soon went on to craft pieces for the aristocracy and clients across the globe. His rich understanding of tradition allowed him to bring a wealth of knowledge to the brand while always striving to reach new heights in his offerings. But, just like the finest diamonds, good things take time. With 105 years of heritage, Wallace Bishop now offers beautifully classic jewellery, watches and meticulous customer service.

A History of Heritage

Wallace Bishop operates one of the largest jewellery and watch design, repair and restoration workshops in the Southern Hemisphere. Jewellery and premium watch specialists diligently design, repair and restore over 1000 pieces each week. Our bespoke service ensures precious family treasures are returned to their former glory to be cherished for generations.

Wallace and his wife, May (a jeweller with a special skill in gilding), open their store on Queen Street, Brisbane.

Wallace Bishop becomes the largest jewellery manufacturer in Queensland.

1934

1997

Loyal Watches, a brand exclusive to Wallace Bishop, is founded by then CEO Carl Bishop. The watches are now a leading timepiece, made with mechanics sourced from Swiss components.

1950 Bluebird is established to honour the end of WWII and becomes one of Wallace Bishop’s most popular pieces.

Stuart Bishop is awarded the prestigious DeBeers Australian Diamond Facets Supreme Design Award.

2022 Wallace Bishop continues to embrace the century of legacy and heritage passed through generations. Wallace Bishop is proudly passed hand to hand through each generation. Fifth-generation Bishop’s, Alexander and William are the current operations managers and have bright plans for the company’s future. Their aim is for customers to have an informed, convenient and enjoyable experience with Wallace Bishop Jewellers for generations to come.
