civil engineering.

Wallace’s civil services group was formed in 1992. Our civil team works on site development projects, water and wastewater projects, utility transmission and distribution lines, flood control and stormwater management/design, streets and highways for cities, counties and state agencies, and numerous land development projects. We also provide both design and inspection services for roadways, bridges and dams.

site development.

Our site development experience ranges from highly urbanized developments with tight site constraints to sprawling green sites.

Prior to designing improvements to any site, we first perform a due diligence site investigation to determine the design parameters of a project. This information is invaluable when determining a site’s complexities. Due diligence helps eliminate future site surprises saving time and money.

utilities.

Our firm investigates, studies and determines the availability and capacity of utilities at a project’s site prior to design. This includes power, natural gas, communications, water, sanitary sewer and storm sewer.

Whether it’s modifying utilities at an existing site or extending utilities to a new site, we have experience coordinating with multiple agencies including city, county and franchise utility companies.

transportation.

Our transportation experience includes the design and reconstruction of roadways, intersections, bridges, sidewalks and streetscaping.

We have performed these services on turnpikes, arterial and non-arterial streets, in neighborhoods, private drives and on school and university campuses. We have experience working with multiple state departments of transportation and county and municipal governments.

pavement management.

Many property owners and managers can benefit from a one-time repair of their pavement, while others may benefit more from a comprehensive analysis of their pavement network.

Our pavement management system prioritizes localized failures for budgeting purposes and to maximize maintenance dollars. These management programs can be customized to track pavement maintenance and rehabilitation requirements for a single facility or across multiple locations.

flood risk management.

Comprehensive stormwater assessments form the cornerstone of our approach for every civil project. Our firm has experience with projects involving watershed modeling of large river basins, dam and levee hydraulic design, watershed planning, local detention facility and site drainage design and floodplain permitting in compliance with applicable federal, state and local standards and design criteria. By analyzing site-specific characteristics, we identify potential stormwater challenges and design customized solutions. This tailored approach leads to effective and sustainable stormwater management systems.

We’re ready to listen to what you need and help shape what you want. Let’s get started.
