We know existing buildings.
When modifying an existing building, issues such as updated building codes and changes to design loads come into play. Our firm analyzes the existing structure in light of the new codes and loads and determines if there is adequate capacity to support new functions or if modifications are required. Our experience with structural analysis and modifications ranges from 19th-century historic buildings to recently constructed facilities.
Licensed in all 50 states, Wallace has provided structural and civil engineering services for thousands of renovations and expansions throughout the country.
We know roofs.
Wallace’s roof assessment and inspection team is experienced with standing seam, TPO, PVC, EPDM, ModBit, BUR and screw down metal roof systems. We have developed an assessment process that identifies when the condition of a roof justifies repair or replacement. In addition, most of our roof consultants are licensed professional engineers and can rapidly develop re-roof and structural repair drawings as required. Our mission is to extend the lifespan of your roof, specify repairs when needed and recommend replacement when necessary.
Our evaluation process includes general condition, damage, life-cycle, and installation assessments.
Our assessment scorecard is a numerical roof condition grading system saved in our database to help facility managers prioritize, schedule and budget future maintenance planning.
We are able to recommend and design repairs as well as provide re-roof design drawings along with the calculations for code and energy verifications.
We know pavement.
Well-maintained pavement is essential in preserving the value of a property. A typical parking lot or service road will last about 20 to 30 years before it deteriorates into a safety hazard. However, some time before that, the pavement will no longer provide an acceptable serviceability.
Many property owners and managers can benefit from a one-time repair of their pavement, while others may benefit more from a comprehensive analysis of their pavement network. Our pavement management system prioritizes localized failures for budgeting purposes and to maximize maintenance dollars.
Wallace Design Collective can assist you with your pavement management needs. Our team can update your existing pavement management program or develop a new system. We are able to customize the entire pavement maintenance and rehabilitation requirements of multiple facilities. Our services correspond to the individual operational needs of each client on a site-by-site basis.
We know traffic control.
The ease and efficiency of getting on and off a school’s campus - as well as proper wayfinding measures - are vital to providing a safe pickup and drop-off experience for parents, students and the school system.
Wallace Design Collective provides pickup and drop-off traffic control services for schools to alleviate long lines and safety issues.
We know responsiveness.
Wallace provides on-call engineering services in response to emergencies and disasters located across the United States. We have been involved with inspections of structures damaged by earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, heavy snowfall, foundation problems, landslides, and more.
We also provide rapid design of damage repairs, shoring design, remediation design for construction errors, and construction observation services.
Wallace has been involved in many large-scale national and regional investigation programs that reviewed existing structures with potential deficiencies and, when such deficiencies were identified, made repair recommendations and designed remediations.
Many of these programs involved facilities that were in-use, which required a sensitive approach that allowed the facilities to remain open while repairs were made discretely and efficiently.
We have designed projects throughout all 50 states, Mexico, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, giving us in-depth knowledge of all model building codes, as well as experience with local codes and jurisdictions.
