We have designed projects throughout all 50 states, Mexico, Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands, giving us in-depth knowledge of all model building codes, as well as experience with local codes and jurisdictions.
Concrete is one of the most commonly used materials in construction for its durability, availability, resistance to fire and water, and cost. Reinforced concrete can be cast into a variety of structural elements including footings, slabs, beams and columns. Wallace Design Collective has experience with cast-in-place and precast concrete structures.
structural steel.
Steel can take a structure to new heights. With its tensile strength, structural steel members have a high strengthto-weight ratio compared to other building materials. It’s easily fabricated and can be made into any shape, increasing the overall efficiency of the design and construction process. Wallace has experience in the design of a variety of structural steel facilities.
wood.
Wood construction is often a preferred structural system for many low-rise and mid-rise buildings. It’s a costeffective and efficient material that is readily available.
Wallace has extensive experience in the design of wood-framed structures located across the United States. Our experience includes light framing, heavy and glue-laminated timber, panelized systems, hybrid woodsteel framing and large roof diaphragms.
cold-formed steel.
Cold-formed steel framing is lightweight, extremely strong, noncombustible and easy to install. It doesn’t shrink or absorb moisture and resists warping, termites and fire. Our experience includes the full design and detailing of the cold-formed steel system, design calculations and shop drawing production for cold-formed steel suppliers. Our knowledge of loadbearing and non-loadbearing cold-formed steel systems comes from our experience as both the engineer-of-record and as specialty designers.
curtain wall.
Wallace has provided structural engineering services for numerous facade systems on iconic structures located around the world. Our team brings structural efficiency to the system and an understanding of the materials which can reduce costs.
We have also provided early design assistance when projects are in the planning stages, where we can study different materials and support methods, as well as the cost impact of multiple options.
We’re ready to listen to what you need and help shape what you want. Let’s get started.
