Immigrants in addition to temporary migrants play an important role in demographic pattern of Canada, in addition to their contribution to the Canadian economy. Consistent with the reports from Statistics Canada; in the third quarter of 2009, the inhabitants of Canada increased by 133,500, largely contributed by overseas migrants. The above mentioned gain was the strongest demographic increase in the third quarter since 1990. From July to October, Canada welcomed a total figure of 90,500 international migrants, which accounted for more than two third of the population increase. In the 3rd quarter of 2008, abroad migrants totaled 90,000. Among all the states in Canada, stronger demographic enlargement was recorded in Western provinces. Though, this does not mean that other states did not welcome immigrants. Approximately every province and territory in Canada saw demographic increase, excepting the Northwest Territories. To be very specific, inhabitants of British Columbia grew by over 0.56% in the third quarter of 2009. Throughout the same period, the province also recorded the largest inter-provincial migration gain since the 3rd quarter of 2007. In the same way, Alberta population increased by 0.44%. Some other provinces that saw noteworthy population growth in the third quarter of 2009 contain Saskatchewan (0.47%) and Manitoba (0.35%). Ontario also saw a boost of 0.38% in the third quarter; though the province inter-provincial migration turn down to a record level since 2002. Quebec population also augmented by 0.36%, mostly due to the flow of international migrants! This was uppermost population growth rate for Quebec since 1988.
