Circumstances of the Survey The yacht was made available for survey while moored stern fast at the marina. A short sea trial under engine was made off the marina and then the yacht was hauled for inspection by crane and then relaunched.

General Limitations of Survey The survey was limited to a non-destructive inspection. Unexposed parts of the yacht were not inspected unless specifically commented upon. Inaccessible parts of the yacht were not inspected. It is possible that dismantling or destructive testing may reveal other defects not possible to be noted by the surveyor. Unless an item was specifically commented upon it should be considered that the item was not inspected. If an item was operated or operation witnessed it will be noted as such in the report, any other items should be considered as untested. This report is intended to be used by the named client in the normal manner concerning the type of survey performed as stated on the first page of the report. The report may additionally be used by insurers or financiers for the purpose of insuring or financing the yacht. The report may be used by the yacht’s flag to confirm safety. The report should not be relied upon for any other purpose by any other party and no liability is undertaken to such party. The report concerns condition of the yacht at time of survey and future condition cannot be anticipated. Dismantling of machinery may reveal a different condition than was possible to determine within the constraints of a typical inspection circumstances. General periodic servicing requirements are not mentioned in the report. It is always recommended to have any machinery inspected and serviced by a specialist engineer. If a Sailing Yacht, the rigging was inspected from deck level only if mast not down. This is for safety reasons. For further inspection of any rigging, inspection by rigger is required. Inspection at deck level cannot find all defects but is satisfactory to make a general assessment. Hull below Waterline The hull below waterline was hammer sounded and no significant delamination or voids were found. The hull surfaces were fair. There were no osmosis blisters seen. Scraping the antifouling in four areas revealed a white pigmented gelcoat that was suitably hard and without visible defect. There was no preventative osmosis treatment applied but this is of no concern.

Sacrificial type laminated keels laminated into the hull. The hull to keel joins were tight and the overlaminations without cracks. The keels were without grounding damages on the leading, trailing edges and the undersides. Hammering the keels found no delamination or voids. There was also no delamination to the hulls around the keels.

Doors closed properly confirming no movement in the structure. No cracks at interior sides of hull laminate. Bilge separation tabbing overlaminations found secure. Moisture Readings Moisture Readings were not taken on the underwater hull as the boat was recently hauled. The deck surface was with moisture due to humidity and rain and moisture readings not possible there either.

Coachroof The coachroof was hammered and numerous areas of minor voids in the construction were found. These are not unexpected in large laminates. The structure was not affected and was sound and did not deflect underfoot. Minor gelcoat crazing in these areas had not developed.

Cockpit Cockpit found in general good condition. Helm seat upholstery also in good condition. Hard top of multiple panel construction supported with stainless framing found generally stiff and secure. The forward port side stanchions require screw tightening. Sealant between hard top panels requires renewal.

Rudder and Steering Stainless wire driven steering from the single helm. Where visible the wires were without corrosion and suitably greased. Fiberglass rudder stocks without cracks in visible areas. Minor corrosion at mild steel tillers considered typical. No cracks at top of rudder tubes and laminated in supporting structure also without cracks. Both rudders found without play around the bushings. Fiberglass rudders without splits between the two mouldings and no damage on the undersides.

Rope cutters fitted and as far as could be seen with the marine growth fouling were complete. Bronze two bladed propellers when scraped did not have signs of dezincification and were without pitting or other corrosion and with no damages to the blade edges.

Stainless clamshell drain covers at underside of bridge deck were without corrosion and secure. Plastic through hull necks without cracks or UV deterioration. Ball valves external condition generally good. Material nickel plated brass which is generally certified for 5 year service life. Recommend to remove the three ball valves in region of the forward port hull next to airconditioning pump for inspection as plating with deterioration. Handles of ball valves found with free movement. Plastic type ball valve for port aft holding tank out understood to be fibre reinforced plastic type permissible below waterline. Looking up the mast extrusion found fair and the spreaders secure. The hardware at top of mast complete as far as could be seen. Boom gooseneck secure and without fracture. Boom looked straight.

Lifesaving and Emergency Equipment
32.1. Life-raft Liferaft not seen on board. According to the certificate of container type manufactured by Plastimar in 2008. Annual servicing in date. Recommendation : Liferaft to be on board. 32.2. Lifejackets 100N foam lifejackets provided which meet Greek requirements. For private use it is suggested to obtain better lifejackets. Compliance with (150N) EN 12402-3 or EN396, (275N) EN12402-2 or EN399 and gas inflated type suggested. Hood and thigh straps increase survival rates. Minimum servicing interval of gas inflated lifejackets 5 years. Harnesses not seen on board. These are a requirement of Greek flag.

The rescue sling to be fitted to the other stern railings. 32.4. Pyrotechnics Pyrotechnics not located on board. As per the greek coastguard requirements there will be according to the certification 3x Red Parachute Flare, 3x Red Hand Flare, 2x Orange Smoke on board. Auxiliary Engines 2 x Yanmar 3JH4E 3cyl inline naturally aspirated marine diesel engines producing 29.4kW at 3000rpm. Engine digital hours meters did not work. Engine hours said to be around 2300hrs. With key switch on, the lubricating oil low pressure and battery low charge alarms displayed visual and audio indicator on both panels, which is correct. Port side engine panel label is damaged at the top right corner and requires sticking back in that location. Engines were in good external condition with coatings intact and no leaks of oil, fuel, seawater or coolant. There were no fuel leaks at injection pumps or injectors. There were no leaks from corrosion at the exhaust mixing elbows. No leaks at water pumps. Alternators, starter motors and solenoids were not corroded. Belts were suitably tight and suitable for further use. Engine mounts were secure and without excessive play. Flexible hoses not deteriorated. Engine lubricating oils looked normal and filled to suitable level. Heat exchangers were without corrosion or sediments as far as could be seen from the cap access.
