Don’t miss out on reducing your energy costs and emissions at your business!

The Hull Business Energy Efficiency Scheme (HBEES) is here to help small and medium enterprises in Hull reduce their energy bills and emissions – but be quick! This project ends in June 2023.

While saving energy and money, we’ll also ensure you’re reducing emissions at your business, and have access to fully-funded specialist support. But just how will we do this?

By offering grant funding of up to £15,000, we help you to replace existing inefficient systems and equipment which otherwise may be too expensive to invest in.

Our grant funding covers energy efficient lighting and solar panels, as well as improvements to heating systems and machinery. We’ll also support the cost of implementing EV chargers for your fleet of electric vehicles.

Additionally, we offer a fully-funded specialist advice service with an energy saving specialist available to Hull businesses, covering topics including how to calculate your carbon footprint, how to draft an energy policy, energy management gap analysis, and support with the energy risk and opportunity register.

This fantastic opportunity to receive funding that helps your business reduce emissions and energy costs, will end in June 2023. In order to take advantage of the grants HBEES are offering, make sure you register and apply before the end of March 2023! Apply here today https://hullbees.co.uk/apply/

Who is eligible?

Our mission is to make smart energy systems affordable and accessible for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) whilst supporting Hull in becoming carbon neutral by 2030.

As our scheme is based in Hull, it’s only available to businesses who pay their rates to Hull City Council. You must also have fewer than 250 employees, an annual turnover of less than €50 million or a balance sheet of less than €43 million.

We support all different kinds of businesses – from those in manufacturing, logistics, services and engineering, so please contact us before March 2023 to see if you’re eligible.

How does it work?

We’ll find out about your business’ operations and needs. We’ll hear about the challenges you’re facing and check if you’re eligible for our support.

We then provide you with a free, on-site energy assessment and report at your business to find out what changes you can make to save energy and money.

The report will outline the potential changes that can be made, explaining to you how any investments that you make will not only save you money – but will also support Hull on the road to NetZero. We’ll work out the cost of making these changes, and how much you can save in terms of money and CO2 emissions, then take your grant application and calculate how much you might be able to receive!

What specialist support do we offer?

As part of our remit to help Hull businesses save energy, we also offer a fully funded specialist advice service on different aspects of energy saving and energy management. You don’t need to take advice on all four either – you can mix and match to your business requirements. If you need help to calculate your carbon footprint, we can support you to do this.

Our service provider GEP Environmental will contact you to gain an understanding of what the role/purpose of your business is, what you, as a business, is trying to achieve and discuss what information is required to calculate the business’ carbon footprint.

If you need assistance to write an energy policy, we can also support you with up to 14 hours of support that will focus on your business’ energy policy / strategy requirements that can be endorsed at the highest level of the business but one that all staff have responsibility for.

We can also support businesses with energy management gap analysis, where you can receive up to 14 hours of support that will help you understand how close the business’ processes are in relation to best practice, ISO 50001:2018. Finally, we can help you to understand your business and the energy risk and opportunity register, you can receive up to 14 hours of support that will help identify the risks and opportunities facing different areas of your business in relation to energy management.
