Children and Young People in Lincolnshire NEED YOU TO CARE.
Every 20 minutes in the UK, another child enters the care system. In Lincolnshire, we’ve seen a perfect storm –more children than ever coming into care and fewer people putting themselves forward to offer a nurturing home. This leaves vulnerable children and young people in a state of uncertainty, living in circumstances which often don’t meet their individual needs.
Children come into foster care for a variety of reasons and may need a short period of care or much longer-term fostering.
“Every child is different,” says Lucy Stevens, Head of Recruitment at Affinity Fostering. “We need a diverse pool of carers to ensure we can offer children the well-matched families they deserve. Children should be able to live with the right Foster Carers in the right location based on their individual needs. We can’t always offer them this without more Foster Carers in the local area.”
Foster Carers must have a spare room, be over the age of 21 and have a secure tenancy in order to apply. Foster Carers should be warm, nurturing and open with a deep motivation to make a positive difference to the lives of children.
