1. Epidermal artist Herzog & De Longmei of the architectural works of the greatest achievement is to skin as a remarkable architectural elements. In structure and spatial organization, the epidermis has become their major field of study. Herzog & De Longmei studied the skin is not stable, and they focus on the traditional epidermal ablation, the pursuit of a conceptual skin, so skin is no longer blunt is no longer a separate form, but have become a kind of "meaning" existence. In addition Herzog & De Longmei is also committed to put the structure into skin, so skin contact with the architectural space to increase. Herzog & De Longmei


Central signal tower the entire building's skin from the adjacent 20 cm wide copper strips covered by these copper strips are twisted at certain locations to enter the sun, while the copper strips so that allowed their entire Building Open became the Faraday shield. This skin is the architectural form and function of imagery and then to a shift.

2. The softwares which i used rebuild the model Autocad 2006 Sketchup 7 Grasshopper (Rhino 4.0) 

Why i used the above softwares? Autocad is easier to draw the 2D plans, sections and the elevations though the scaning pictures. 

Skechup 7 is used to build the regular, basic and simple floors.It is easier to get the walls from the 2D lines used the pluging-in buttons. 

The grasshopper software concentrate on the interesting skin of the model. 


3. TUTORIAL BUILDING THE MODEL


STEP 1: Draw the 2D plans in the AUTOCAD 2006


STEP 2: input the plan dwg.file into Sketchup 7

3.confirm the location of the windows

1.input the dwg.file into sketchup

2.draw the walls in sketchup 7

4.drag the wall into 3D

5.open the holes on the wall using the pluging-in functions


STEP 2: build every floors into 3D in Sketchup 7

STEP 3: build the wave band using Grasshopper


1.extrude one rectagle along one line

2.copy it in the Z vector

3.decrease one part of the wall


4.fill in the wave bands 5.use the same logic to finish the whole buliding's facade

5.CONCLUSION Different softwares show different advantages to make the building modle process easier.

Different softwares is used to build different parts in one architecture,the regular function and the irregular skin and structure.

Use the parameter software get the varity and fantastic effect.
